    Wolf,
Sure hoping that we see an update sooner then later. Your build to date is spectacular to say the least.

As usual, the level of detail is only equaled by the level of craftsmanship that you certainly possess.

    Jorge,
I've got to hand it to you for the tire modification. I'd never think of anything like that, and the end result is perfect.

Your NMF is really looking good. I'm also suprised at the procedure you're using. Nearly everyone including me does a basic coat of one of the Alcad 2 Aluminums, then masks and does the panels, but you've gone a completely different route, and it really works fantastically. I just might very well use if for my next (when ever that is) NMF aircraft build.

Unbelievable  I've never seen engine detailing taken to this level before. Then again, I've never seen a 1/18 Jug. Your build is one for the books for sure.

    Jay,
I just read through your entire scratch engine build, and I'm simply blown away  The level of craftsmanship that you've displayed is just beyond what the everyday plastic modeler could even comprehend.

Thanks for the link. I've been checking out Best Buys, and now I'll checkout Target, as they're literally right next to each other by me.

the engine installed in the enclosed fuselage really looks tremendous. The amount of work to bring it to that stage is almost beyond comprehension.

Gotta say that the fuel tanks do have that rubbery look to them. If you do revisit them, what will you do to make them even more like rubber?

a most impressive paint scheme, coupled with some of the most realistic weathering I've seen on a well used operational F4U-1 Birdcage.

    Wolfe,
Outstanding detailing on a level that as Chuck would say, kicks it up a few notches.  You method of leaving small parts on a piece of sprue till detailed is something that I should print out and tape to the front of one of my desk lamps. I can't count how many times I've ruined a tiny part trying to drill through it and hold it with either my fingers or tweezers,  or only to have the part pop off and fly off to some area of the model room, bounce on the carpet, and never be found during the build.

    Breaker,
Decals look great.  You really don't need to go to heavy with oil washes as you've created quite a realistic operationally weathered finish from just looking at these pictures.

Even if I wanted to join you with the USS Arizona, I don't have enough years left, nor retirement funds to even consider a build of this magnitude.

    Brian,
Excellent progress for sure. What I love most about your builds is both your thought process, and how  you explain it to us in words and pictures. Well done. As for the update, outstanding as usual. Centering any hole for me is a major challenge that a one eyed half blind old guy al ways struggles with. Yours came out perfect.

The dolly looks great. Your method for gluing the stanchions correctly in place is fool proof.    BTW, I like the toothpick idea of securing those cups from spilling over.

    Spyros,
The weathering just continues to look better and better.  At this point I'd call the top side and outer lower wing panels done. Wheel wells certainly have that operational look to them. And nice job on the pilot figure. Anyone who can paint one gets a    from me, simply because I can't.
