morane reacted to thierry laurent in Looks like Eduard is reassessing 1/32
We already got THREE correct and different Mk.IX! Even if any Spit sells, I'm not convinced they will sell tons of them. Do not forget when they released their 1/32 Emil (Me 109 sell as well!), there was no good available kit and they did not look thrilled by the sales...

Indeed. If they go that route they will have soon another good reason to be disappointed by 1/32 sales!
A MiG would be a far better idea as they would have no serious competitor. They could easily start with a MiG-15 family. Come on...

I was joking . IN another thread someone was getting very upset that some of us like these ‘obscure’ aircraft. The Caudron G series were indeed very well known at the time and are still one of the well known aircraft of WWI. I am genuinely pleased at Copper State Models approach to bringing kits of significant French WWI era aircraft to the market. I hope they do well with them.
Kind regards,
Paul

Obscure, everything is relative, the aircraft was still built in more than 3000 units, used by more than 20 countries for more than 20 years! not to mention its civilian use. Surely one of the most famous planes.... in the 20's and 30's. But time passes

The only thing we can say for sure is that there is more chance of seeing a Me 410 than an Amiot 143 (and I love the Amiot 143 )

morane reacted to CRAZY IVAN5 in Anyone for a new 1/32 Spitfire Mk 24 ?
Oh, hell yeah! I'm in like now and they can throw in it's F.A.A. counterpart the FR47 while they're at it! I'm trying to curb my enthusiasm as I haven't seen anything from this company yet regarding plastic. Lots of nice ideas but I need to see some beef [ CADS do look good]

I like the Amiot 143 also. I find it interesting that the engine used in the Amiot
143 was used in the Hs-129. ZM has the engine so now just wrap a Amiot 143 around it.
I wonder if no Me-410 because it was
mostly a failure. Me-110G has boring camouflage schemes.

I'd to see eduard jump into 1/32 with some Allison engine Mustangs. B, C, D Me109s would be fine as well.

1/32 series of F4F Wildcat would surely be a good idea.

morane reacted to mozart in Gloster Gamecock “quickie”!
Following my useful visit to the JetAge Museum in the Cotswolds today, a couple of quickies of the “main event” the glorious Gloster Gamecock:
and a lovely shot of a pair of Grebes:
I took lots of pictures of the Gamecock of course and will probably do a walkaround, but also a Typhoon cockpit being restored which will probably go into my Typhoon build in the Overlord GB

Me too! I’ve asked the Museum if it’s possible to view any supporting drawings or documents for the Typhoon and Gamecock.

Indeed Richard, both designed by Folland. I think an SE5a to a Grebe would be quite a jump, but worth looking at for sure. Thanks for your advice.
I’m going to see this beauty (Gamecock) next Wednesday to take pictures and notes:
And while I’m there, a Typhoon cockpit that’s being restored….all grist to my mill!

Hi Max,
The "greble" is an extrapolation of the SE5. it may be possible to start from a SE5 Roden to modify the fuselage of the Gamecock. But it seems to me that the wings were also different.

morane reacted to mozart in ICM 2024 Releases
I’m rather sad that even my beloved Silver Wings company have deserted 1/32 scale with the launch last year of their 1/48 flying boats. I have enough of their biplanes to keep me going I guess but it’s always exciting to see a new “must have” come along.

It's a superb kit, pretty certain its delay is down to astronomical shipping container charges, Danny has a lot invested in the kit, so I imagine he's been more than frustrated over the past few years.
I'll definitely buy a couple.
