Interesting interview - I'm going to avoid picking out a particular nugget from it as I don't want to spawn another wish list thread!

Would love to have one as well Thierry, but I hope that they will keep price somewhere in 600-700€ range, when considering there are no engines and no undercarriage and I would guess they will sell catapult separately. They will be in Moson during the weekend so maybe we will have some price estimate.

I would love one but I'm afraid of the price. I would not be surprised seeing that one above 800€...

Where did ICM enter the equation? This is a suggestion about HK Models, aka Hong Kong Models, who have already produced B-17s and Lancasters in 1:32 scale.
Watch out, because you may get unexpectedly pooped on by a pig flying in reverse.

esarmstrong reacted to europapete in A shout out for Proper Plane
Hi Guys, A while ago I ordered a wooden propeller and 3D seat for my CSM Caudron G3. They arrived in good time ( considering they had to be made to order and then add on Ukraine's situation) over here to the U.S. Shipping was around two weeks. Not bad as Hannants takes 8-10 days with no war zone issues, which is all down to the Post Office, NOT Hannants.
What can I say. Proper Plane has done an AWESOME job with this. The propeller is very well made. An ultra smooth finnish, a nice satin varnish, the blades are even, equal, no variation between them. The wood grain is tiny, not overscale.
I have bought other props from them before, ( Gotha G4, AEG G4) Oh, yes, on the AEG set ( two props) The set I ordered represents the well known photo with the whales mouth decor. This plane has two different props fitted. Proper Plane represents this perfectly. Two accurately different props. Just look at the photos, then look at the props. 'Nuff said.
If you need a propeller for your WW1 masterpiece, just do it.
On the seat, same accolades. Way better than CSM's kit seat. (and that is good!)
The reason to upgrade an already good kit seat is that the rear seat that this represents is very open to view and is wicker built. The Proper Plane version represents the wicker construction much better/finer than the kit seat, is thinner in the walls, and much better defined.
No, this is not an advert. Just a happy customer letting you all know about a good supplier.

esarmstrong reacted to Maximus in Zoukei Mura Fw-190 A-4
Hello and heads up. I am building this FW 190 A-4 (Super Wing Series, No 21). Be careful on step 3-5 E page 48. The instructions on the MG FF Access Doors are backwards. You will recognize this when you dry fit the doors. You are not going crazy. Just switch the doors between the two wings. Something else that caught me was on page 32, section 3-4 "flips" the wing between the two subsections. The wing is down in the first picture but it is up in the second. I spent five minutes trying to figure out how to place the Aileron Control Link (part B-15). When I realized the problem was that I was looking at the wing upside down, well that was embarrassing.
On the plus side the BMW 801 D-2 came together perfectly. Be careful when you get to the oil filter on page 15. There is a real reason why Zoukeimura does a cut out box on this part on page 15. Honestly, this engine rivals the Tamiya Corsair which is the best kit I have ever had the pleasure to work on.
Looking at the the guns on this plane. You come to realize why the bomber aircrews called them the butcher birds.

And conversely, postal charges from Australia are "insane" when items are shipped here. Not so sure that the problem is with US postal rates as much as it has to do with rates to and from Australia for items going to and from the USA. I've noticed that the same problem doesn't seem to exist on items shipping to the US from other nations.

The problem with ZM is that they take longer to develop and release the models than Kurt Tank took to develop the actual plane.

There are options from the PCM/Kitlinx A-4 release, if you find someone willing to part with some unused option.
Here is the full PCM Fw190A-4 review.

There are a couple of options on this sheet from AIMS, white 3 as per the instructions, but also the aircraft below, which isn't featured on the instructions, but there on the decal sheet.
Eduard instructions
Finally, Montex made an A-4 conversion same markings as below, if you post a decal request in the Traders Forum you might get lucky...

esarmstrong reacted to John1 in HK Models Bristol Beaufighter?
Great build and I know I'm taking this thread way OT so if you are inclined, maybe PM me but I'm thinking about going to Scotland for a week later this summer / early fall. Wondering if it would worth going up to Banff (I'll primarily be in Edinburgh) or is there not much left of the old base?

esarmstrong reacted to Scotsman in HK Models Bristol Beaufighter?
There are a lot of Strike Wing Mossie models about ....
What's really driving my enthusiasm for the Beau is that I like fairly close to what's left of both the Banff and Dallachy bases up here in the NE of Scotland. The Banff field at Boindy is now a wind farm with a bunch of huge wind turbines . Dallach is pretty well gone but the base looks out on a beautiful bay
All this is by way of saying I NEED as decent newly tooled Beau (ideally a T FX) on my work bench , as soon as possible
PS "A Separate Little War" refenced above is a wonderful book, and a prime reference for any Strike wing build

Even if he set it up in the gift shop the inevitable wishlist would appear.
