  1. Thanks Jim! Yep, get back to serenity...
  2. Hi and thanks a lot! Appreciate it. The video is nearly 1h long and features quite some footage from this topic. It comes to the full build video. It represents only a small fragment from the entire making process, because for example the completion of the flaps lasted in common several days of building, and there is just one small portion of it in the video... and there are nearly 20 different moving things in the Harrier What shows the video is a choice/selection by Mitko. Will see. Btw, according to him, the video should be published after 2 long long long looooong weeks - around 16/17.
  3. Hi guys I did not quite much things on the Eagle during the past few months... but I decided to do something that i was wondering whether to do or not... - opening the equipment bays on the nose - all 6 of them One is already completely done, so 5 more that should become almost the same. I know that it would be not an easy endeavor, but i got inspired from a couple of builds with these doors open and how the Eagle looks like. So far only the two small rear bays on the left side are open, sanded and fitted nicely. The doors were bare on the other sides, so after a lot of scrubbing, scratching and sanding - they have some imitations of grits/frames according to my ref. pics. Now the funny part - jazzing-up the port side... + the pilot`s accessories compartment: with a desert camo bag and two manuals right next to it:
  4. Oh man, the greatest figures I`ve seen so far. Awesome awesome... beautiful... I don`t know... just real... The plane is super real! Congrats!
  5. The Harrier is finished. I now discovered the magic of the weathering with oil paints... And thanks to Mitko`s support, this is probably my best model so far. One pic at daylight and one with nightlights, in in-flight and VTOL settings:
  6. Oh nice nice. First i wondered what you are going to do with that sketching, but after that i got the idea. Awesome tool. Should do it justly.
  7. Oh man... This is beautiful. I could only wish you happy modeling and post more updates! Make it a beast!
  8. The best Prowler, no doubt about it! I like these heavily weathered and in the same time clean surfaces.
  9. My my Awesome looking nozzles, but I bet its from the photo... that contrast in the close exposure...
  10. Thanks thanks! There are a few: Indeed the canopy is removable, it slides on the rails and can be removed if "over-slid"... just a sec for a better view...
  11. Hi hi, it`s been a big airbrake with the Eagle, but I was dealing with the Harrier. Well, I may become famous, but this Harrier became something like my best model so far. It`s not finished yet - just the decals are attached today. There will be a full video review of the build on the Mitko`s youtube channel and check out what a trailer he did about this model: There will be a full build review on the DNmodels blog, so check it out when you can. So far I could only share a couple of photos from today - the decals are on and a thin coat of lacquer. That`s it for now. Btw, I plan to use oil paints for the weathering for the first time and with the help from the local IPMS club - the oil paints should do miracles for the weathering. So... the Harrier GR.9A ZG478, with the huge Lorraine Cross on the tail: It`s an interesting plane. Honestly, I had only some basic knowledge about this plane and it is not one of my most favorite planes (even the US Harrier), but during this build I kinda found its beauty. Yeah, it`s a beautiful plane. Almost forgot to mention ... it is something like 3 models in one - I mean 3 different displays out of this model - just about everything turns, rotates, etc., to transform it from a parked jet, through the VTOL mode, to a fast flying plane... there is a sneak peak in the trailer.
  12. Chuck, when I see your post, I wonder whether to start reading it or to view the pics first... Awesome update. Very beautiful installation of the vents. I have two ideas - to put some "internal" components under the vents, cause the grills are pretty wide and it's quite visible underneath them, especially when lit with a torch. And about all the bare panel lines on the top fuselage - they are quite out of scale, according to me, at least on the E version and it seems so on your model too, and I plan to do some partial filling with surfacer of all the panel lines... some day They certainly look big, just too perfect, too even, like a digital camo. Yet that's just according to me. Cheers! Awesome Eagle update!
  13. Absolute Beauty! Congrats! Some more photos should be very good. I think that that sight to the engines through the nozzles is just amazing. Btw the trailing edges of the nozzles look normally thick/thin, very very good! Bravo.
  14. The electrical tape is elastic and when its adhesive layer makes contact with glass surface - it provides some kind of a "wet" effect, but there may also appear bubbles or wrinkles or tiny areas that can`t adhere to the glass, and they will look not good. Or, the elastic effect of the tape could make it peel off or fall off from the glass surface after a few days. I would prefer long thin pieces of painted paper tape. It`s easier to follow the curves of the frame and you can paint it with the exact color.
  15. Can`t believe!!! It`s now when I turn attention to that... THANKS!
  16. Yep, there are some (very very interesting) in YF-23.net. Btw this topic indulged me to think about a 1/48 kit and possibly a what-if build - a model of a normally produced plane, with normal US markings, such as if it was the chosen plane. The camouflage would probably be the same as of the Raptor today. But how about the structural modifications of the plane? I mean the YF-22 had longer stabilators with longer tips, the shape of the intakes was slightly different and that`s what I remember at first glance. The today`s Raptors are slightly different than the YF-22. So if this might be the same case if the YF-23 was approved - then which could be the changes with the airframe? Any clues? Is there a place where is mentioned something on that matter or more likely that everything is classified still...
