  1. Gorgeous country................. almost half expected to see Buffalo Bill riding along, very majestic....... I love it down that way... took our Corvette on a road trip almost there a few years ago, would love to do it again, lots of history there, thanks for sharing...... I loved it...
  2. Oh, be still my heart............... I can't wit for this one...... saw my first real live, fire breathing Spitfire in 1990 on the channel coast low over the beach at Folkstone Kent..................... it was AWESOME !

  4. There's TRUTH in advertising???????? Huh................. who knew............................
  5. NO criticism from me.................. this is awesome !
  6. I totally agree, some of us guys used to keep the box art, as 'art'..... and I agree, it was the box art that helped me decide which model to buy, event today ( at 60) I STILL love good box art................... so what happened?/ I often wonder why most of the box art is so generic and sterile, is it the 'politically correct' thing these days, don't want to hurt feelings? Just curious, as we all like a good bit of classic art, at least I sure do.....it does take me back to a simpler time for sure....... oh , oh.................. does that mean I'm 'simple'?? :hmmm:
  7. This looks to be a good one, and FINALLY a model company who got the Canadian Maple Leaf correct for a change.....and even looks to be the correct blue on the roundel........ good going ! FINALLY......although I have a ton of aftermarket roundels, it is still a good thing and attention to detail....... might have to get this one.... Jeff
  8. Cathy and I attended a Titanic exhibition in Spokane Washington last moth, it is a traveling thing, with actual artifacts from the ship..............they had an expedition ( many of them of course) and brought up some items..a couple of the rivets. a pot from the galley, a massive hunk of coal from the bunkers, money, wallets, and some clothing, a shirt, , tie, shoes and eye glasses...... all in special hermetically sealed controlled display cases.... if the exhibition comes close to you, GO SEE IT ! It is awesome and captivating.......it was like seeing the twisted steel beams from the Twin Towers we saw on the back of a semi a few years ago........ makes it more real than ever and the human touch is an unbelievable feeling.... they are not just bits and pieces, but the human factor....... truly incredible... Sorry to distract from your build Iain..... It is called Titanic: The Artifact Exhibition Google it and see where it's going next.....

  12. Radleigh, I am working on the SAME P3 , just managed to get the tank mounted yesterday ( Lone Star Models ) and what site are you on for the Waterbombers SIG ? I'm into Fire Bombers too, converting my P3 to the same as yours, I have done a 1/72 Conair Firecat conversion ( S2f Tracker) and am going to do P2 Neptune, the Revell C54, C130 Coulson ( have the decals) and am working on a 1/48 Bell UH! conversion to a 205A1 helicopter, here are a few sites that may interest you if you don't already have them http://airtankersinscale.proboards.com a forum site I regularly try to get involved with, it isn't as active as this site, but it could be really good http://wildfiretoday.com a Wild fire news site, VERY interesting stuff here, the odd video etc, https://www.oddbobmodels.com/our-team.php my buddy Rob's site for add ons, he is adding stuff all the time, I know there is a DC10 tank coming, possibly a TBM Conversion, and even a water tank for the Skycrane he is a real good guy, lives in Calgary, and is honest so if you want conversion stuff order with confidence, and his stuff is really good, I have the C 130 conversion and the P2 Neptune conversion https://www.redroomodels.com/red-roo-resin-172/douglas-dc-4gdc-6c-firebomber-conversion I have this conversion I bought from Gary, again, VERY good and comes with Buffalo decals of " Alpha Papa " very well done http://www.syhartdecal.fr/references_2.php?lang=ENG&ref=Syhart%20913&page=description and I'm sure you well know about these guys in France, this is the set I did for the Firecat, although I didn't do the turbo conversion I like the old radials, they sound so cool.... https://www.v1decals.com/airline/coulson and if you need Coulson C 130 decals, Ben from Victoria B.C. is your man, again a real nice decal set and a real good guy to deal with..... I hope there is some stuff you can use and are interested in here, I always like to pass on some sites that maybe the guys haven't seen, some of this stuff, as you well know is hours of research, and it is nice to know of someone other than me that is interested in fire bombers........ let em know where I can see the SIG.... cheers Jeff
