  1. William, I was in Martin's store on Thursday past, and he took me back and VERY proudly showed me the P12.........the photos on this site do not do your talents justice, it is AWESOME!! The rigging is super clean and tight, and what really blew me away was the very subtle weathering of the gills on the fuselage near the engine, and the paint was incredible..... take a bow !! I am excited to see the rest of your incredible builds in his store when I drop back from Nelson ...... keep going, you have incredible talent !! Jeff
  2. I'm in too.................. Jeff
  3. I have one of these in my stash as well, I am going to convert it to a water bomber ( fire bomber?) with the new Red Roo tank conversion kit............... looks like it is going to take up a fair bit of space... other than the flap issue, was or is there any other areas I should be aware of?? Beautiful build by the way and the NMF is outstanding Jeff
  4. R J Mitchell would be most proud of your talents, and is smiling down on you, that you, Peter are doing such justice to his magnificent airplane......with this outstanding workmanship you possess, R J lives on.....
  5. I'm in absolute awe......................... I love the term " Riblets".............. first thing that came to me was................... like my 'riblets' spicy with a couple pints of beer !! I hang on every update, incredible skills on ALL levels...... Jeff
  6. Speechless............. I'm curious about the barrels too....they look so real.... outstanding work Wolf, just outstanding.... Jeff
  7. So just to make sure I don't screw this up, I have marked Part 13 on section 23.....geez, you guys should see this paper work, I have a ton of 'notes' and high lights on it, as reminders.... I sure don't want to mess this up after making the investment....this one I might just actually HAVE to read the paper work.... thanks again guys, this place is so cool, and full of valuable insights..... I sure enjoy my time spent here...... Jeff
  8. THANKS Bill, point well taken!! I appreciate the advice, so far on the ones I have drilled out I have matched the size of the drill with the corresponding indentation for the cut out. Thanks again.... I will make sure I don't mess this up.. J
  9. Thanks Ron, drilling the holes in the engine block is exactly what I was doing as I had read your post regarding that particular thing, I just kind of thought the instructions were a little vague in section 22 on page 15, many thanks for the good info. Jeff
  10. No worries, I think what I will do, is wait until I get there and check to see what is needed... I get not wanting to dig into the stash....thanks anyway...
  11. Actually I thought the "Frammus" nut holds the Gyro-Hexing unit on? But not the Hypo-Disjunctive, that is a different one....
  12. ..................................................Uh- HUH .................................................. LOL!!!
  13. well, I'm a slowly taking the plunge.......I am doing some preliminary clean up and drilling of some holes that I don't want to forget during the build.... so I have come to section 22 on page 15 of the instruction book ( YES, I am actually reading the instructions ! First time for everything they say) anyway there is a drill marked on what I would call the 'oil pan', and it seems as though they want the existing hole drilled another 2mm.... am I correct with this, and I am puzzled as to why..... would trimming the locating pin a tad do the same thing? Or am I way off?? any help Gents.................. thanks Jeff
  14. Wow, very nice build..... I just received my Tamiya MkXVIe and marked out on the instructions about the X-17 bit, just in case......... I watch all these builds and take detailed notes, you guys ALL do fabulous work....... thanks for posting I for one really appreciate and enjoy these threads...... And also............... " You can teach......... Monkeys to fly better than that !!" Best movie EVER !!! Cheers Jeff
  15. I have the 'How to Build" book I bought with my kit, BUT this thread is a detailed visual companion to the book, and the only thing that would be cooler is to have an odd short video tutorial of your painting process........ I always do better when I can see how it's done.....as I seem to have a disconnect between my brain and my hands.... your work, Wolf, is exceptionally stunning...... Cheers Mate Jeff
  16. Man............... I'm so far out of my league......... wow,............... unbelievable attention to the finest details.... chains on the lock pins?? I can almost smell the cordite.......museum curators will want to check this thread so they can restore the real deal as accurate as this... awesome ........ I am enjoying this beyond words......and I, like everyone else, hang on each incredible update...... press on Wolf, old Chap............. Cheers Jeff
  17. I just noticed and had a thought..... I know, I know....in photo #6 above, I see the ammo chutes are empty and looking for a reload...... now that is a good way to display the kit chutes as they seem to be devoid of ammunition detail, and if ( I ) want to have mine loaded, i will use Roy's excellent ammo chutes...... now there is two excellent ideas.... I will take that under advisement when I do my kit..... I'm leaning towards loaded though..just sayin.....
  18. Thanks Vandy 1 VX4..... I must say I am in complete awe of the talent on this site. I will say it is an incredible place to come, look and learn. I have my head almost full ( LOL) of great ideas and techniques, that if I had not been here to see I never would have thought of.....like getting a degree at the Large Scale Model University with Professor Wolf. Jeff
  19. Hey gents...... new guy here......... I have been watching this build from the start and quietly marveling in complete astonishment of the talent I am seeing, more than once I have had to clean my glasses to make sure I'm really seeing what is posted...... all the expletives and everything has been said regarding the quality and the spectacular build we are witnessing by you Wolf..... I have bought the same kit, and am a little hesitant starting it, you are the definition of an artist, a level of skill I will never get to. I am enjoying your build as much as all the rest of the fellows..... incredible, I await the next update.... also any of you guys who haven't got Roy's Mosquito feed chutes, don't wait, go get them, mine arrived to day and they are awesome!!! I look forward to the updates and all the excellent information..... I am a member of the Calgary Mosquito Society too, and what a blast that is.... I also have a few pics that may help down the road Wolf.... Cheers Jeff
