    Hi,
    For anyone who missed this.
After years of trying to figure out how to get this to market 3D printers have finally come to the point where price/performance have made this possible. This is a game changer and things are just going to get better.

Since it's very visible in the "greenhouse" I'm working on the GEE, Radar etc for the Navigator's station. It will also be available for sale.

If you want to use all your knowledge of color science you're taking your hobby to an art.
But if you want to build an accurate model but not concerned about color science you're probably more of an historian.
If you're building and painting with no real concern for accuracy you're probably not that obsessed and that's fine too.
    It's a hobby.

robertmro got a reaction from USMC Herc in What do you think of Anycubic i3 Mega S FDM 3D Printer or something better??

I agree. It took me a couple of years to get good with the software and years more to get really good. But I use Modo which isn't a CAD program and I use camera matching to calculate dimensions when I can't get blueprints. This can be done for free with Blender. The only down side is these programs only save STL files which can't be used for CNC.

    It’s interesting that you ask.
I’m in a dispute with ANYCUBIC right now for a refund. Fortunately I paid with PayPal and will eventually get my money back but there many people out there wouldn’t.
My reasons for the cancellation had nothing to do with their inability to deliver product now. The reviews online were very good and at one time the company shipped a good product however things have changed. A day after placing my order l learned that I wanted a smaller 4K screen which delivers a finer resolution but smaller build size. I tried to cancel the order but they have no mechanism for doing that. After a lot of searching I found that the only way to communicate with them is on Facebook Messenger. After some coaxing they agreed but are hedging on the refund. Enter PayPal which is investigating the issue. The bottom line is they are selling machines at holiday discounts that they can’t deliver. If you look at the owner Facebook forums you will find a revolution brewing. If you still decide to buy an ANYCUBIC printer only do it with Amazon and be warned that their product support is virtually nonexistent right now.

To show how screwed up they are I got a message from the telling me that they will refund my money if I close the dispute first.

I will assume that you what you’re getting into by buying a resin printer.

This isn't the right place for this discussion. That might sound insensitive but you are venturing into the politically charged topic of who should carry guns and take the law into their hands. Some would say you would be justified but other would say that if everyone is armed and free decide when to enforce the law things could get out of control very quickly. I think most people would agree that you could gotten into a lot of legal trouble if you had used your gun.

I'm have deep sympathy for you because I can understand the emotions you felt. I have strong feels about this issue but I think your minister, priest, rabbi or a therapist would be a better person to discuss this with.

Quite honestly it would scare me to hell to live in a country where any Tom, Dick or Harry is allowed to carry a gun and may not have the wit when, or not, is the right time to use it!

I am not going to touch the weapon carry issue. As a wise Command Sergeant Major once said to me, "Never try to teach a pig to sing. It wastes your time and annoys the pig".

That being said, as a combat veteran and former LEO, I am ingrained with the sheepdog mentality of protecting those who cannot protect themselves by any means necessary. You did the right thing in intervening, and did the best you could under the circumstances.  Try to remind yourself of that and don't beat yourself up over the "what ifs". Believe me, I do that a lot and it's MUCH easier said than done.

I say these things as one who deals with my own PTSD on an almost daily basis. I was diagnosed in 2005 and have been working on and with it since then. As Mark pointed out in a previous post, there's no such thing as mild PTSD. It's like being pregnant, you either are, or aren't. So yes, you experienced PTSD.

If you need/want to vent some more, or just to talk feel free to message me. That goes for anybody. I'm not just fantastically good looking, but also a peer counselor for veterans at the local VA hospital. I swear I've had enough therapy to start my own practice!

On a side note, we all might want to remember that this forum consists of members from all over the world who have many different views. Especially on weapons.
