  1. Hello , I have started this very enjoyable build in November 2016 and because of it's relatively simple construction finished it in only 1,5 months. Buil was straitforward , the parts fit excellent and the only aftermarket parts used where textile belts from HGW and a Parabellum 14 MG with mixed parts from Eduard Brassin and Master barrel. I can recommend this kit very much for WW1 beginners because it has very few rigging lines ( only the stirring lines for the rudders ). Without too many word , here are the pictures , hope you enjoy.
  2. Hi Kev , sure you can , looking forward to see it there. Peter
  3. Hello , Inspired by the excellent wip from tucohoward I decided to build my WnW DWF late in the same way as he did. So I have to start here with a great sorry for the copy version I have build. So , what can I say about this kit ? It is excellent like the other ones I have build before from this company. No problems , perfect fit and a lot of detail oop. Was a great fun to build and relatively easy finished within 1,5 months. Only aftermarket parts I used were textile safety belts from HGW and a mixture of Eduard Resin and Master PE-Barrel for the Parabellum 14 MG. Without much more words , here are the pictures of the finished plane , including also a few in work pictures. Hope you like it.
  4. Hi panzer948 , The good news for you , the W29 kit is still available from Wingnut. The bad news is that you can only get it in form of the Duellist Pack together with a Felixstowe early for "cheap" 349,- Dollar. That's the way I did and having build now both kits I can only recommend you to do it as long as it is possible. Great value for the money and it keeps you busy for at least half a year . Peter
  5. Hello everybody , after an unexpected long building time of 3,5 months I have now finished my Fe2b , one of the most challenging but very enjoyable kit from Wingnut Wings. Not really complicated to build but the amount of struts and rigging is nothing for unpatient people ( like I'm used to be sometimes ). But I would do it again and recommend it to everyone who is looking for something special. Not to many words , here are the pictures. Hope you like them.
  6. Hi everybody , It was a fun build after all and went together easily with only one longer break due to myself messing up one of the C-Decals. Here the link to the work in progress thread : http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=60935 With no more words , here are the pictures , hope you like it :
  7. Hi everybody , after receiving the spare decals from WnW everything went on fast and so I can now declare this one done. Following a few pictures , the others under RFI. Hope you like it. Peter
  8. Hello , while I have to wait for the spare decals for my Hansa-Brandenburg W 29 ( I messed up one of the C-Decals ) I decided to start something new. The FE2b is in my opinion one of the most challenging kits from WnW but also one of the most beautiful WW1 planes. If someone does not now the kit , here is the box. And this is the version I plan to build. Started slow a few days ago with building the instrument panel , for me always one of the most exciting moments fixing all the small and sensitive decals without messing them up. Having prepared all the woodwork for the cockpit it was time today to put it all together which is pure fun with WnW kits because everything fits perfekt. Sub segments for the pilot and observer , control wires for the rudder attached. Cockpit finished accept the safety belts and frame rigging. Hope you like it so far. Peter
  9. Hi Wolf , your work on the small details of the Mossie is unbelievable and brings modeling to a new level far away from what I can handle. It is pure inspiration to follow your work and I wish I had the talent and patience for doing so. With high respect , Peter
  10. Next step was some work on the Parabellum 14/17. The plan is to replace the kit part with a combination of Eduard Resin and Master metal barrel. The comparison of the kit part with the Eduard resin MG shows clearly that the Eduard barrel is too short. With the Master barrel it looks much better and with correct length. Ammo drum is from the Eduard set. Finished Parabellum ready to be used. More work on the fuselage with added Lozenge Tarnstoff and C-Decals. Propeller and Spandau 08 machine guns added. Slim airframe Wings with Lozenge Tarnstoff , slightly aged and ready to be added to the fuselage. Floats also ready. The Anemometer ( wind speed meter ) , lower part from WnW , upper part from Gaspatch. 90 % finished , just waiting for a spare C-Decal ( messed up one of them ) ordered from Pheon decals. Peter
  11. What a great idea and a challenge to go. A Spandau 08/15 made out of wood is something really special and not seen anywere before. Looking forward to see more of this ! Peter
  12. Ok , time for an update on my HB 29. The fuselage is closed now and I have managed to finish the work on the engine too. The Benz.III engine is not the best detailed engine from WnW and so I choosed to use a HGW upgrade set for it , added ignition wires and replaced the molded on push rods with 0,5 mm silver/nickel pipes.
  13. Hi Kevin , And again I'm glad that you want them. Looking forward to see it on the website. Peter
  14. Thanks to all of you for following this build and for the very friendly comments. There is not too much new this week but I have managed to finish the cockpit , add the internal rigging and make a test fit into the right fusalage half. Fit is excellent , no problems to see here. Peter
  15. Hi Peter , I guess it is too simple for a tutorial , but this is how I do it : - First brush the plastic parts with Tamiya XF-59 Desert Yellow - prepare a mix of Burnt Amber and burnt Sienna oil paint ( I use Griffin Alkyd because of the fast drying time of 6-8 hours ) with AK Interactive White Spirit. - apply the blend to the parts and let it start to dry ( approx. 30 min. ) , when it getting higher viscos start brushing the wood structure with a wide brush until you get the reqiured result. Normally I repeat this 2-3 times till I feel it is looking ok. Peter
