    aircare84 got a reaction from F-4Phanwell in Revell Me-262 A1 'Rote 13'
    Here is my Revell 1/32 Me-262 A1a in the markings of Heinz Bar's Rote 13, III/EJG 2 in 3/1945.
    This is a great kit, builds up nice. Overall detail & fit are excellent. Highly recommend the kit. The only issues I had was the fit of the optional opened panels, engine & gun bays, which I modeled as closed.
    Used the following aftermarket;
    Eduard 'Look' instrument panel, Quickboost Revi 16 gunsight, Eagle editions decals for the '13' & S/N, HGW stencils & some photo etch seat belt buckles.
    Added the following;
     Wiring, piping , hoses & brake lines to the landing gear & bays; seat belts from lead foil; wiring to the back of instrument panel, levers & other misc. details to the cockpit; replaced the plastic antennas with wire & aluminum strip; plastic pitot tube replaced with tubing; added details inside the canopy; added reflectors to the gunsight & added the antenna.
    Painted with Xtracolor enamels, weathered with pastels & a silver pencil. Weathering was kept light.
    Thanks for looking & all comments welcome.

    Looking forward to you build John.
    It is a great kit & I'm sure you will turn out another stunner as usual.
    I used the Barracuda nose on mine with the half engine in the Hi-tech kit, as Chuck had linked to.
    I had to do alot of fitting, sanding, grinding to get it all together. Also, the oil or coolant tank (?) on the front of the engine casting will be wider than the Barracuda nose & will need sanded down to match the new nose. I was happy with the grafting & believe it was worth the extra effort.
    Other areas I had issues with, was the cockpit was too wide, would spread the fuse out, causing negative dihedral & also caused fit issues with the LG wells. Landing gear wells were a PITA to assemble & fit correctly & the wing inserts fit poorly.
    Hope it helps you on your build.

    Just finished today; Special Hobby Tempest Mk V 'Hi Tech' kit. Finished as SA-M, a Mk V flown by James Sheddan of 486 Squadron.
    Beautiful model when finished. Takes a lot of work to get there though. Many fit issues which I guess is common for the brand.
    Sure looks good when finished though.
    The Hi Tech kit comes with the 1/2 engine, lots of resin to replace plastic kit parts, HGW seat belts & photo etch details.
    After seeing Misoslav build so many, I was real interested in trying my hand at one. Got the kit @ 1/2 price on sale at a on line retailer.
    Added Barracuda resin nose & prop, Eduard flaps.
    Painted using MRP paints.
    All markings except stencils, kill markings & Squadron flag are painted on.
    Thanks to Reimund for the kill markings & flags !
    Weathered using washes, pastels & hair spray technique for the chipping.
    Thanks for looking & all comments welcome.

    Found this on Ebay and slapped it together:

    I thought it would be fun to build the model with all the "working options" fully functional. I have to admit, however, that the kit really show it's age. A member added the F3F to a running wish-list, here on the forum, a couple of days ago. The F3F certainly strikes me as a worthy offering in that regard. For now, modelers will almost certainly be more satisfied with the Accurate Miniatures 1/48 F3F-1/2 if they want a nice, scale model of Grumman's little "beer-bottle" of a plane.

    More pics of the model, these with the main landing gear deployed:

    this is my last 1/32 kit , first for 2021, i dont build many large scale airplanes, only the Alies classics of WW2, this time is the spitfire, it is almost OOB build, just added resin wheels and PE seatbelts, and some wires to the engine, hope you like it guys. Engine cowls dont fit perfectly, but the model will be displayed without the engine cowls

    This is my recently completed build of the Revell Me262B-1/U-1 kit in 1/32 scale.  I have chosen to depict Red 10 of 10./NJG11, which was one of four Me262B nightfighters captured by the Allies at the end of the war.

    The aftermarket item list for this build is as follows:
    1. Master FuG 218 Neptun brass radar assembly
    2. Barracuda Me262 resin wheels
    3. HGW Me262B fabric seatbelts
    4. Eduard Me262B-1 Exterior set
    5. Eduard Me262B-1 Interior set
    6. Eduard Me262B-1 Mask set

    Please note that large portions of the Eduard Exterior and Interior set went unused.  Major markings were painted using masks produced with a Silhouette Portrait cutter.  Kit decals were used for the remainder of the markings.
