  1. Hi Matt, Wow! What a stunning build! I'm about to start working on an old Revell 1/32 F104C/G. Your workmanship and modelling are fantastic! I'll be following this thread with interest from now on, Cheers Viv
  2. Hi everyone, Its arrived, and may I say how suprised I am at how tiny the actual plane was! It really does look like a fun build though. As soon as I start I will post a WIP thread here so you can all laugh either with or at my hamfisted attempts at putting this plane together! Once again, thank you all for your input, it is much appreciated! Cheers Viv
  3. Ha ha, thank you Petrov. Yes, its from G Force, as is my handle as The Ace From Outer Space was the name of an episode. I had no idea it was called Gatchaman until a friend enlightened me a few years ago. Here in the UK it was always Battle of the Planets! Cheers Viv
  4. Oooh, I was hoping this was going to be a relaively speedy mostly OOB build but having now seen the Vector Pratt and Whitney R1340 Wasp, I may have to buy and build it in. Hmmm, decisions decisions. Oh well, the kit is in the post now so I'll have a think about which way I'll go with it when it lands in the next couple of days. Cheers, Viv
  5. Good Morning Everyone, Thank you all very much for your replies, they are very much appreciated. I intend to scratch build the instrument panel and have a sheet of Peter from Airscale's wonderful brass cockpit bezels that will be used in this build. My wife and I bought my three year old son a Dorling Kindersley book on aircraft that had a spread on the Gee Bee Z. They both loved the plane and couldn't believe it was a real aircraft. As a result my wife said she would buy one for me to build so I am making this for her! I will keep you posted of my progress. I wNt it to be a relatively speedy build but as I model at a glacial pace it could be some time! Thank you all once again, Cheers Viv
  6. Good evening everyone, I am shortly to become the proud owner of one of the Williams Brothers Gee Bee Z racer kits. I was just wondering if anyone here had made one in the past and if there are any issues woth the kit I should be aware of. I'm also going to try to put as much detail as I can into the cockpit and any pointers or reference reccomendations would be very greatly appreciated. Cheers, I hope everyone had a lovely Christmas, Viv
  7. Hi everyone, And wow, I'm very new to the world of large scale model aircraft but this thread is an education in itself! I love the real metal look and may pick up some foils at Telford just to experiment on a smaller kit before I try it on a big one. Fantastic, this thread is great, Cheers Viv
  8. Hi Everyone, This is my first post here and I'm still new to lare scale aircraft models but I would really love to see a Hunter or a Javelin in 1/24. Cheers, Viv
