Brilliant small work detail !!
do you have any tips for keeping such small pieces on place, and type of glue used ?

Longbow_06 reacted to Gazzas in WNW Pfalz D.III Komplete 23/Mai/19
HI everyone!
I started my WnW sojourn a last year. This is my second WnW kit to start, and none of the schemes are really appealing. So, I decided to do the best looking "Pfalz" I've ever seen.
I haven't worked out all of the particulars, yet... I just wanna have fun and build a cool looking model. I've got lots of WnW lozenge, so working it around the fuselage could get wasteful. I'm not even sure I can do it cleanly. Hopefully I won't have to resort to painting.
I started a couple weeks ago, and here I am today:
I decided to only detail as much of the engine as necessary. So, after lagging the carburetor inlets and adding some plug wires, I weathered it with washes and dry brushing.
I also gave the exhaust a "heat treatment"
And the office. I replace the PE belts with HGW belts. Those things are awesome.
I also got the fuselage closed up later...but I'll save those pics for the next update.
Thanks for looking!

Thanks Guy's - Today's the fourth of May and it's 74 years ago Ulrich Planck landed at 'Fliegerhorst Grove' with his Arado Ar 234 8H+BH.
At Bernard Montgomery's headquarters in the Netherlands, Wehrmacht forces in northwestern Germany, the Netherlands and Denmark
surrendered to the Allies, effective at 8:00 a.m. on May 5.
The Germans Surrender to Montgomery on Lüneburg Heath, 4th May 1945
Well I wasn't able to complete this diorama for this anniversary, still want to add some extras.
But I'm pretty sure it will be all done, next year for the 75th anniversary.
Cheers: Kent

i struggled to find something for the break line straps. I know a lot of you guys use thinly cut Tamiya masking tape.
I ended up using a metal tape, that is used for insulated HVAC ducting.
It has a sticky back, covered in brown paper.
It worked great, and I just sealed it with some mat varnish prior to primer coat.

Looks great so far! Tamiya fine white is about as smooth a surface as you can create on a model IMHO.
Im sure its exactly what some of us have mentioned before, but its just so darn handy..................In the future, if you are ever in need of such an item and don't want want the chrome/polished look try Aizu "Micron masking tape". They make pack that has 0.4 mm tape all the way up to 2 mm tape. Utterly handy for anything from brake line straps, to masking the small yellow lines seen on phantom canopies, to masking the pink sealer on Russian planes, to masking super tiny curved lines.
Its nice because you don't have to worry about cutting the width yourself, and the lines are always nice, straight and even.
