Brian, What's a kit whitout a challenge??
Probably a Tamiya?
I'll see how it goes. I have your WIP as a reference and will give it my best shot.

Fvdm reacted to guitarlute101 in 1/32 Gotha G.I Scratch Build
A little update, not much time to work on it this week and I still need to order some .02 and .03 styrene sheet.
The rectangle and triangle shapes to the rear are the bases for the balsa wood to vacu-form over and the half circle near the front will be built up with a small piece of balsa and vacu-formed too.
You can see the areas near the back of the cockpit that I need to fill back in because I opened up the entire cockpit area but this is not a problem..

So after chopping the fuselage in half in excitment of joining the this group build I realised I probably should have glued the buklheads/ wing spars in place first to ease initial alignment before getting the razor saw out but never mind. So with that in mind I will work on the rear fuselage foward. The tail wheel bay on the Ju-88 is pretty large open space and needs some detail. On mu Ju-188 build I used the Profi Modeller set which although very nice is very very expensive now.
On this build I'm going to use the AIMS etched set which is a nice simple set and is a massive improvement to the very basic kit parts. Hopefuuly I can follow the Profi set a bit and make some improvements based on that set.
So with a bit of care I opened up necesary holes and then added the etched skins.
Not had a lot of time to concentrate on this one but with all my refernce sorted now I'm looking foward to getting on with this one now.
Regards. Andy

Okay, making some progress. As this is pretty much an OOB build there won't be any time spent "correcting" errors in the kit. I enjoy seeing those modelers that do that, but I am not one of them. I do have the Master Barrels for the kit. I made some progress on the interior to date. The seat isn't finished but workingon it, very fiddly.
I used Humbrol Leather with some Modern Desert sand for highlighting and Tamiya orange. Not finished but moving. The yellow Gas Detection dod is out of an old decal sheet for the Blue Angels, using a hole punch I cut out a few. I did put one in the back but it isn't in this image.
I spent some time on the "AirScale" P.E. parts. I found the instructions to be a little on the vague side, but after reading them a few times, following the steps it all became clear. I used Testors Model Maser Insignia Yellow and RAF Azure Blue for the gauges. The other colors are plain old Testors #3 Red and Testors Model Master Orange. For the overall color I used Tamiya Burnt Iron. It isn't black, has some metalic in it, just enough to set it off from black and make it stand out a bit.
Another view of the "office", as you can see a lot of work left in this area. I spent from about 1530 to 2330 working on the stuff you see here.
The fit of the "AirScale" PE is real nice. The sequence of cutting out the control knobs is well thought out and "easy peasey" for those less inclined with PE parts.
Just for fun, here is a shot of the Tamiya 1/48 Lancaster next to the fuselage sections of the HK Lancaster. It looks quite small.
Another "Fun" shot: My wife indicating where the finished model will be "displayed." She's such a joker! In reality, she supports my hobby (addiction).
Can't have a build without the obligatory matchstick for size comparison.
Okay, that's it for this iteration. I am making progress and will post more as that progress continues. Thanks for looking in and comment.

A small stagnation in the work on the model. I am waiting for photos of the interior of the replica pilot's cabin.
During this time, I drew the motor cover in the 3D program and I intend to print it.

ribs coming along in the wheel well - each one hand made to fit the space given they are shallower than scale as the roof is lower....
..just the last pair to go...

Getting there...it's more or less up on its legs...still have a few little parts to add to the gear, and I also need to adjust the height of the mains a bit, I think. Then paint the refueling probe cover, add the canopy, and the antennas and other doo-dads, stick on the burner cans, missiles, and probably other stuff. I just may break the four-year barrier with this thing.
Thanks for stopping by,

With the exhausts now spritzed with MM burnt metal and given a couple of dirty grey/black washes, they look quite acceptable now, at least to me.

Thanks for the interest guy’s!
not much time for modeling this wekend, but managed to do some things with the cockpit and weaponsbay. Resin is the happy lappy update. Speaking of the weaponsbay, whats the best color? Bare alumunium or interior green?
