Eurofighter Typhoon FGR.4, ZK349 GN-A, Flt. Lt. Ben Westoby-Brooks, RAF No.29(R) Squadron, Battle of Britain 75th Anniversary commemorative scheme, Typhoon Display Team, RAF Coningsby, Lincolnshire, Summer 2015.
The markings were a representation of the scheme worn by Hawker Hurricane Mk.I P3576 of No.249 Squadron, the mount of Flight Lieutenant James Brindley Nicolson on 16th August 1940, the day on which he would be awarded Fighter Command’s only Victoria Cross of the Second World War. Wearing the same GN-A fuselage codes as Nicholson’s Hurricane and displaying his personal Red Devil™ emblem under the cockpit canopy, this Typhoon immediately became something of an Airshow phenomenon and was simply referred to as GINA™ by Britain’s army of besotted enthusiasts.
Built from the Revell 1/32 Kit, shes a very large model, aftermarket decals (xtradecal), pilot and home made stand she has taken flight- themongoose, Dekon, KiwiZac and 18 others

You've got a post-Vietnam variant, the TRAM mod A-6E which entered service in Dec 1978 and made its first cruise around Sept 1979 — around the time the light gull grey over white scheme with splashes of colour was just starting to give way to more subdued shades of mushroom. So, your colour schemes should be from the 1979-1997 timeframe.
There are other considerations narrowing that down in terms of units because TRAM didn't happen overnight and Boeing started making a new wing by the 1990s, but pretty much any A-6E between 1982 and Gulf War One are build options.
And lucky you for getting one cheap. It's a delightful kit. The only nit-pick is that the fincap is angled up from front to rear, not perfectly level as in the kit.

Guys ive just acquired a 1/32 Trumpeter A-6E TRAM intruder for a very very cheap price, however I know nothing about the kit or the intruder other than what I've seen on the film 'flight of the intruder' or read in the associated Steven Coonts books
So what do I need to know?

Hi Mark, I thought, purely based on feedback I'd seen on here that it was an E that was needed, which I have on order. I'll have to change that if it's wrong. Would be great if an expert could confirm please.
thanks
neil
I thought and according to wiki they were 'D' models

So to make a British one....
I'd need a D? And British decals and brimstones?
Is that all?

Thank you

To answer @Mark M question, yes you have everything you need to make the tropical version with the Revell kit. Scissor on tail wheel strut needs to be removed and modified to ‘straight’.
