  1. Would also be interested in a vac-formed canopy, as I have the standard Vb and the Trop, and nice as the HpH set is, I doubt if Ill run to two of them! Jim, I imagine if you brought out a specific canopy for the HobbyBoss kit, you would sell quite a few....
  2. Hi Alan, purchased the set directly from HpH (not HGW!) 2 weeks ago- arrived a few days ago- pricey, but good quality. http://shop.hphmodels.cz/en/accessories/27-opravna-sada-pro-spitfire-mk-v-hobby-boss-v-meritku-132.html
  3. Ive got a Bambi BB8 silent air- its great, but about around £300 in the UK. Would highly recommend it if you have the funds.
  4. Beautiful build- is it the Revell IIa you started with? You can get the Grey Matters Rotol prop for this kit in the UK- nearly £9 with postage, it is pricy, although a nice piece.
  5. Thanks for the responses- yes, it was a montex mask I had used most recently, and acylic paint. Ive used warm soapy water in the past, just wondered if there were any other tips anyone had.
  6. Hi All, as the title suggests, wondering if anyone has any tips for final cleaning up of the canopy after the frame has been painted? I want to get rid of the sticky residue left by masking tape, handling etc, but Im worried about using thinners etc in case it damages the clarity. Any advice would be appreciated....
  7. This is all great info- thanks guys!
  8. Hi All, Ive got a Spitfire Vb by HobbyBoss coming to the top of the build list, and Ive read that one of the kits weak points is its canopy and particularly the windscreen. I know HpH to a correction set which gives you all three clear pieces, new wheel centres, cockpit door and the horizontal stabilizers, but its 31 Euros plus delivery, which is more than I paid for the kit! Considering I only really want the canopy parts it seems false economy. Ive heard people say use the Hasgawa or Tamiya parts, but I know for a fact the Tamiya parts are a real awkward fit, and I dont see many 'spare' Hasegawa canopies around (no idea how easy to fit either). So my question is, does anyone know of any other companies making a canopy for this kit, or if there are any other possibilities to fix it?
  9. Very nice- really like the paint.
  10. Lovely build of one of my favourite aircraft- really like that livery too. Bravo.
  11. Can confirm that about the wheels- I had taken the resin ones out of my G4 kit to use with the F4 'Marseille' kit, and theres quite a difference- ended up putting them back and getting Aires ones- plus the spinner and props are correct and more accurate. Both great kits, but the F4 has the edge in my opinion- paticularly if you want to build any early-ish F. Im guessing you already have the G4 in your stash though?
  12. Wow- that looks like a beautiful kit- very jealous!
  13. Very, very nice. Congratulations.
  14. One thing you can get aftermarket for the Beau- apart from the hedgehog exhausts- are some resin Hercules engines from Vector. Really nice, but pricy: http://www.neomega-resin.com/bristol-hercules-132nd-scale-872-p.asp Ive always been suprised by the almost complete lack of aftermarket for this kit, given how long its been around and how popular it is. Would have thought at least Eduard would have done some photoetch for the cockpit, or someone would have done an undercarriage/wheel set.
  15. Amazing amount of detail for 1/72- really very impressive build, bravo!
  16. Looking good. Just dont understand Aires- every single cockpit of theres seems to be too wide- much too wide. Do they even measure the gap? Its a shame, because they always look so good in the pack- lots of crisp detail- but seems that half the time they are un-useable...
