  1. Man, that is beautiful! Congrats on a fine job well done!
  2. Looking good so far! Love the scratchbuilt stuff, I just don't have the patience for it.
  3. The Dora is probably my most desired version and I've been waiting for a retool for a few years now.
  4. I think it turned out great!! Congrats on a fine build!
  5. Good to know, I hadn't read the history of this aircraft. Thanks!!
  6. Lots of builders have graduated up to larger scales because the eyes and hands aren't as steady as they used to be. I like nicely detailed parts, but a good portion of these new kits coming out are over-engineered and have way more assemblies than I care to mess with, not to mention the increasing prices that are getting harder and harder to afford. Zoukie Mura, Border and Great Wall Hobbies are a prime example of trying to supply a "every nut and bolt kit", but in reality, how may builders will go that far? I'd much rather have a Hasegawa-esq model without all the micro details, and exposed engines (that most will never see) to a good-basic and affordable kit with good rivet detail and the fine details that will actually be seen. But this is probably just me....
  7. I got an email response from Mr. Daehne, and he kindly explained to me that production had stopped about 6 months ago and he had no intention of starting it back up any time soon. On that note, does anyone have any Henri Daehne Bf109G and Fw190D prop sets that they could sell? I'd like to have 1 of each if possible. Thanks!!!!!
  8. I looked back at my Bandai 1/72 X-wing that I painted a couple of years ago and realized that I had painted the pilot, I did a pretty good job too! There's no way I could do it now, even with magnifiers on!!
  9. Thanks Ernest! This kit has been a real treat so far.
  10. Thanks!! Yes, the pilot is included. It also comes with a "gear up" option. I was tempted to make this an in-flight model, but I think I'll keep it grounded.
  11. Thanks! I don't consider myself much of a figure painter, but I try..
  12. Haha Thanks Damian, I don't know about that, but this kit is just falling together. VERY, VERY Tamiyaesq and one of the best/easiest Hasegawa kits I've ever built. But I've probably just jinxed myself..lol
  13. Thanks!! I wasn't sure and I wanted to get that somewhat right..lol
  14. Cockpit is complete, I like to add pilot figures, so the box pilot has been assembled and installed. I inserted the cockpit from underneath the fuselage as per the instructions. I have to say that this new tooled Zero kit really is a feat of engineering. It's been a joy so far to assemble and everything has been so smooth so far. (The cowl is not glued in yet so I can add the gunsight.) I have one question that I am not sure about. I was under the impression that the gear well would be that metallic blue/green color but Hasegawa says it should be IJN Gray? Is this correct?
