  1. Aside from the obvious (rearward-loaded Mk 82s), the BSU-33 conical fins are nowhere near straight. They should be in a proper "X pattern" when viewed from the direct front or rear of the bomb... Semper Fi, Ski

    Kitty Hawk Open 1/32 Poll.

Well since the Jag and F-84 are confirmed, I'd love to see more helos from them. How about: -an ACCURATE AH-1W -AH-1Z -AH-1T -AH-1J -AH-1G -UH-1Y -UH-1N -UH-1E -UH-34 -CH-46 CH-53 Maybe just a TAD of a Marine bias! Semper Fi, Ski

Great news! It is possible to just do one visor though. I never flew with two visors, only the dark one. I knew lots of crewmen that did this as well. Ski

Great stuff, as always Norbert! Any chance of seeing a USN/USMC helo crew with the visor down?

    MH-60L & AH-6J 1/35 nightstalkers

Well I'll be patiently waiting to see what you do with the KH offering, you really made that Dragon Littlebird shine! Semper, Ski

    MH-60L & AH-6J 1/35 nightstalkers

Thanks for resurrecting this thread, they are truly stunning builds. I haven't built the -60 yet, but I have tackled the Littlebird (the OH-6, specifically). The windshield/fuselage join is a real PITA, but you wouldn't know it looking at his build. I suspect (hope) that Kitty Hawk has an H-60 forthcoming, time will tell! Semper, Ski

    Tamy F4U-2N build

Hell yes! I recently discovered this gem, it's a fantastic way to adhere clear parts. The best thing is, if you screw up placement, you simply pry the part off and remove the cured "goop" without marring the clear plastic of the kit part. Another use I found is for instrument faces. Unlike Future floor wax, which has a tendency to fill all the recesses of an instrument face, the consistency of this stuff lends itself to producing a flat, level finish, not unlike the flat panes glass of aircraft instruments. Just apply a judicious amount of clear epoxy, zap it with infrared light for about 30 seconds, and whammy, you have a scale representation of a real instrument. Hope this helps! Semper, Ski

Kitty Hawk to release 1/35 HH-60G

I'd LOVE to see what you do with it, Pig! Not to sound like a broken record, but now we need KH to do an accurate AH-1G, AH-1J, AH-1T, AH-1W, and UH-1N, all in 35th and 48th.... Semper, Ski
  9. Sorry if this has been posted (didn't see it on the Forum). KH has CAD drawings up for KH50005, 1/35 HH-60G on their Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/Kitty-hawk-736521713066784/ Looks good so far, definitely on my build list. Would be nice to see it 1/48 as well! Ski

Hey Norbert, Absolutely love your products, keep them coming! Any chance of getting the US Navy helo crew with visors down? With maxillofacial shields? I love how the US Army crews turned out, but I'd like the same options with the Navy crew members. Not only would they look great, but it would help those of us who are challenged when it comes to painting eyes! Cheers, Ski

    KH AH-6J/MH-6J instructions up

Good LORD, they packed a lot of detail in on this thing, I hope the fit is better than the ol' Dragon kit. Rivets or not, it's a must have for me. One thing I found odd, however; the first marking options show a 6-bladed main rotor and four-bladed tail rotor. I don't see any provisions for these in the sprues, only the 5-main and 2-tail version. I do see 6 main rotor blades, but not the associated head. Re: the crew, I wonder if the Reedoak figures for the H-60 would work. Thanks for sharing! Ski

Harold, you truly are the master of making a silk purse out of a sow's ear. Well done, Sir! Semper, Ski

    Tankfest Northwest

The date/day change happened just this year. They figured it would be more convenient and they'd get a bigger crowd on Saturday. Semper, Ski

    Tankfest Northwest

I'll be there for sure! And by the way, it's on Saturday May 27th, not the 29th. It's 10 miles from my house, and well worth it! I've attended the last three, and they get better every year. They might even have a surprise in store for all you Tamiya fans, particularly in light of their recent announcement Semper, Ski

    1/32 Tamiya F4U-1D!

Should I "jump" and get this kit, the EXACT aircraft I would build! VMF-323 on Okinawa, 1945. As a proud former Death Rattler, these markings are a must (and pretty easy, btw)! Semper, Ski
