Thunnus got a reaction from Onspring in 1/32 Hasegawa Fw190D-13 Yellow 10
Thank you much for your comment! I appreciate it greatly!
I just got back from my annual trip to Central Asia (Kazakhstan/Kyrgyzstan) so I've been really busy going through my 3,000+ pics and processing them via Lightroom. I still need to cobble together a slideshow to present to my church, which I hope to complete by this weekend.
Sometime after that, I hope to get back on the modeling bench. Continue my unfinished projects? Or start a new one? Not sure but one way or another, I hope to be back soon!

Truly an inspiration - I hoping to get near this level within a decade or two

Thanks Wolf! The Fw190 cockpit is very cramped and the view inside is very limited, even with the canopy in the open position. But I promise to consider an open canopy on the next Dora build. In the meantime, here is a photographic reminder of what's inside of Yellow 13...
Thank you Andy! In hindsight, I think a little weathering of those flaps would've been appropriate.
Thanks Troy!
Thank you so much!

I've finally completed the last bits and pieces on Yellow 10. She is officially finished! A full array of finished photos can be found on the RFI board...

Thanks Aaron! This area will be visible through the wheel wells although specific additions like the MG151 cannon will be difficult to make out. Which is ok by me. I just wanted to create enough dense detail to make the view into the rear engine area somewhat plausible.
I've made my own disposable sanding tools using small punched out discs of sand paper superglued to the flattened ends of wooden cocktail sticks. The ejector marks are filled with liquid putty and sanded down using the modified toothpick.

Watching this one with interest since I'm in the middle of building the standard version of this kit myself. But instead of the Wolfpack engine, I am using the Wolfpack resin nose for the Tei.
I don't have access to the instructions from the special edition but the standard kit instructions show the placement of both the right and left cockpit panels. The left panel is C12 (highlighted in blue) and the right panel is C11 (highlighted in red).

Love it, love it! Your detailing down to the brake hoses on the landing gear is exquisite, the camo pattern also I thought is particularly well executed. I didn't know they ever painted the undersides of the night fighters in black, and used to wonder why not go all the way and paint the entire aircraft that same shade of black? IDK the answer but if I had to guess, I think they wanted to be able to fly the same fighter during the day too when the mission required it, which considering how desperate things got in Germany after 1943, probably happened very often. A flat black fighter plane would be pretty visible during daylight after all whereas the pattern shown on your 262 was probably plenty good at night anyway.
I tend to devour the stories of the German night fighters, these brave men had an overwhelmingly tough job and incredible responsibility on their shoulders, always. Their nearly impossible job was to knock down as many British night bombers as possible, night after night, flying in pitch darkness in every kind of weather...all while watching your homeland get bombed to rubble one city at a time and watching your comrades vanish forever one by one, and wondering when your turn would come - a more impossible job is hard to imagine.

This build needs to be pinned to the top. Always a joy to look at.

This is my recently completed build of the Revell Me262B-1/U-1 kit in 1/32 scale. I have chosen to depict Red 10 of 10./NJG11, which was one of four Me262B nightfighters captured by the Allies at the end of the war.
The aftermarket item list for this build is as follows:
1. Master FuG 218 Neptun brass radar assembly
2. Barracuda Me262 resin wheels
3. HGW Me262B fabric seatbelts
4. Eduard Me262B-1 Exterior set
5. Eduard Me262B-1 Interior set
6. Eduard Me262B-1 Mask set
Please note that large portions of the Eduard Exterior and Interior set went unused. Major markings were painted using masks produced with a Silhouette Portrait cutter. Kit decals were used for the remainder of the markings.
