As the Brits say"I'm gobsmacked!". You might as well start making 1/1 stangs in the back yard now,why waste time with these little bits?

Looking good brother. The stringers are looking a lot srtaighter now btw. Cool fuel cell covers as well. I thought that you were going to put scale screws in for the fuel cell covers?

Wow man, have you been working on that in the car on the Parkway? Where did you find the time? Looking very cool. What can look like aluminum more than aluminum? Are you still going with the unpainted skin and painted longerons? This is going to look jaw-dropping when all of the plumbing is installed. Can't wait.

I see that you decided on the number of lightening cutouts brother! Looks great as usual man. There was a pic on hyperscale yesterday that showed a wing that was seperated from the fuselage during a restore job. I think that Craig posted it. Had a good look at a wing without the "fake" floor pieces. Very illustrative.

I will have to dig through the ten pounds of pix I downloaded from the SIG but I know I saw it. I copied the pic as it struck me as something I had not seen before. Wonder if it was the usual problem with research in that it was a post war addition? That big 51 is honkin' nice dude.

I was going to write a longer post filled with admiration but I was drooling so much that it shorted out my keyboard!

You can get those drawings(which come in 1/16 scale) from Charley Neely who lurks on the P-51 SIG. They are well worth the bucks,

On the roof of the dog house I saw a small scoop in a pic on the sig. Is that another post war addition?

That dump door sure is pur-teee! See what you mean about the side wall rivits though. Why didn't you use the punches that you shared with me? Are they supposed to be round head or flush riivts?

Wow! Thanks Jim,coming from you that means a lot. I...umm..the heat from my face is melting the desk top.
I wish that I had the photographic dicipline that Geoff does so I could show the progress of my 1/32 kit. I don't have much time to devote to building so I usually blow off taking pix. I did put up my landing light though! LOL
And,thanks for the SIG becuse you really make research easy!
