  1. Nice job laying down the rips and tears over the white. Can’t even tell!
  2. 62 hours! Holy cow you must do a bunch of checks to make sure that won’t fail anywhere close to end. Dang i’d hate to start that over, and that’s not even considering the cost of lost materials
  3. those are just some really nice consistent rivets my man!
  4. Many thanks guys! This has been a goal to do for several years now. Feels good to have it on display
  5. Looks like you really benefited from the new house! Nice setup for a model that takes alot of attention lol i hope that seam holds
  6. Lots of progress has been made I’m at a stopping point tho as i ran out of rice paddi lol more on the way. Here’s a preview of the scene, I’ve managed to bend a 7/8” piece of acrylic to hold the jet. Glad i got ot that big as withe resin on it in addition to it’s overall size the rod actually deflects almost 1/4” and here is the Red River and rice paddi layout so far… Enjoy the scenery i’ll be back in mid to late July with the final display
  7. I really like it and I think you did a great job with the tone of red!
  8. That box top one is an absolute favorite from my youth! Looking forward to it
  9. Those spare guns look like the Way to go! The stock ones really are barren. +1 to the wing idea
  10. Your detail painting always turns oit so crisp and makes the model stand out. Really nice build!
  11. Academy 1/35 AH-1Z again I just love these kits AND there are so many great schemes to do! The only downside is the clear parts. The canopy glass is prone to cracking, when taking them off the sprue (even with micro saw) and when installing them. HMLA-167 is based out of MCAS New River NC. This one is 100% out of the box. Just a fun build, did the assembly in the hotel each night while i was traveling earlier this year (and i just realized that i haven’t replaced the lost canopy handles, oops). Finally got the fun part…painting I made masks on my Silhouette cutter for the Warriors scheme. Man they have alot of unique graphics on their Vipers. The squadron logo over the gun I did by airbrushing a white shadow on the gun, then i hand painted the black and red elements of the skull. Scale Colors for the blue grey on top, MCW lacquer for all the rest. The ordnance load is based on a pic i found online. I liked the non symmetrical load and the different color rocket pods. The 1 allowance i had to make was for the intake danger markings. I needed to split the red and black colors but i only had red and grey markings in 1/35 scale. Unfortunately the lettering is too small for the silhouette so i decided solid red would at least reflect the paint scheme well.
  12. Lovely and looks soooo real! The paint looks just perfect. What a result!
  13. Love it! Your version of the invasion stripes really strikes me as the best I’ve seen for the rushed look. I think maybe it’s the washed out color and appearance of what appear like brush marks. Just great overall presentation! chris
  14. Too cool! And it’s funny to see all those boxes overhead, all probably lamenting that you won’t build them because that new 3d printer showed up
  15. Super nice, and that leather look on the cover over the coming pops!
  16. Looking forward to it! I’ve got one in my stash with all the Flying Leatherneck details too. Can’t wait to see what you “scratch” up for this
  17. Wow, stupendous! It’s huge. It seemed like it was going to be huge as you built it, but complete, holy cow it’s HUGE! Nice work Dan. Were you able to complete it for the contest?
  18. Hey Matt glad you stopped by! Hasn’t been a whole lot to report until now, and even then it’s only half baked . I did get all the ordnance on! and i’ve made a solid start on the base this weekend. Going from the cardboard mock-up to foam and finally boight some wood today and started something serious hope to have enough time to finish all the framing sunday. Then i can start forming the rice paddies.
  19. Good save! These things can get ugly for sure
  20. Very nice mottling on that fuselage!
  21. Stupendous! Great job with so many figures. There’s some expression out there that really brings this to life.
