Of course I like to think of my models as accurate  .
It depends of my degree of self-persuasion at the time. Especially when I know that nobody else but myself will see the models in the flesh.
IMO the most important is not the accuracy. It’s the good time we had when we built the model.

This is my MAIN concern relating to instructions in modern kits, at least the ones I’ve built: Border Models, MiniArt, Z-M, Italeri.
Especially when dealing with radial engines, one drawing is shown viewed from the front and the next is from the back, one from above, the other from below, etc.
Since most of the pistons (apparently) look the same, it’s very easy to do it the wrong way. Every drawing deserves close scrutiny. Some even need enlargement to show all the details.
I admit that quite a few times, I had to dismantle an assembly to rebuild it during the course of my recent builds.
Debonder, James Debonder is my name.
Thank you Maximus for the caveat  and  to the show!

I aim to be as accurate as I can with the external finish, and I will build a particular aircraft at a point in time; so of course the tail number will match the unit markings, any ordnance will be as correct as I can get it for the unit and its role, etc, and weathering appropriate for the subject.
On the other hand, I do not worry too much about the small technical details such as an extra instrument on the panel for a sub-variant, just as long as it looks plausible. After all, 99% of people who look at the model probably won't know, and hopefully the other 1% either won't notice or will be too polite to say anything.
That's one thing I like about modelling, everyone is free to pursue it in their own way. Vive la difference!

HPH kits always remind me of what’s called ‘dentist’s guitars’ in collector circles. Expensive guitars which only the rich (i.e. dentists) can afford and would never get played.

It’s still too early to say anything about the kit but… main components in resin with smaller parts in styrene ? Looks like the modelling world has suddenly turned upside down.
Even more disturbing is the proposed color schemes.

HPH is offering the obligatory Fuchida’s machine, the red-tailed AI-301 which led the ‘Hawaiian operation’ strike force on December 8, 1941.
The colour profile shows it equipped with a torpedo although it’s a well-documented fact that during the raid, AI-301 was part of the high-altitude group of Kates carrying type 99 bombs

    FOR INFO ONLY
Not to say that AI-301 never carried torpedoes in her lifetime, but if you want to represent the famous plane on that fateful day, you’d have to swap the torpedo for a bomb.

Having said that, there are great days coming for Kate lovers everywhere
