  1. Thanks Denis, and yes you’re right about the seatbelt. Should be in place before too long…..can’t fly without it!
  2. Progress is progress, albeit slow!
  3. THAT….is NOT cheating Peter, it’s bloody marvellous. If I had your knowledge and ability with 3D drawing and printing it would open up so many options. And let’s face it, it’s definitely the future for our hobby.
  4. I’m not a great 109 fan, but that is one beautiful model Marco. Clean, precise but well-weathered. Excellent build, I sincerely hope to see more of your work.
  5. Yep, doing a quick measurement on the PCM Mk I compared to the Revell Mk IIB, the nose on the former is 70mm (forward opening of cockpit) and 75mm on the latter. The actual measurement on the plane was 4 inches to accommodate the Merlin XX engine. They also have different shaped radiators (the Mk II being “squarer” from the front view) and in many, but not all, different tail wheel “legs”, single piece on Mk I, “knuckle type” on later Mks.
  6. Yep, Tim was doing a lot of Tornado stuff some while ago, perhaps he’ll look in?
  7. Indeed, and therein lies the rub….how to model an F3? Not that I know anything about the Mk at all, just that no kit is available of one.
  8. Good looking Tornado Mike, one of the few jets on my list yet to do.
  9. Those are the best pictures of a Tiger Moth that I've seen Paul, a real treasure trove indeed. Thank you so much for posting them....I'm going to steal them all for my Tiger Moth file!!
  10. Well done Denis, those stars look very good indeed and are far from easy to get right…..but you’ve done it chum!
  11. Funnily enough Dennis I also have the HGW Wet Transfers for the Hurricane but I agree, their success is very hit and miss, whereas I’m in complete control of the paint stencils. Never too late Tolga……there’s always time……
  12. The weather is absolutely atrocious, the only saving grace is that it means plenty of bench time! Start of play this morning and the bench is looking a bit “Hawkerish”: The Tiffie is the old Revell one that I started some years ago but needs finishing! Today’s target, the OneManArmy stencils: All in place but each now needs a further mask around it to avoid overspray. About 2 hours prep for 10 minutes precision airbrushing. This is my second use of these masks, and I reckon they’ll go one more Hurricane at least, but I’m hoping two! Not that I’m tight of course!
  13. So sorry to hear your sad tale Michael, that’s a real bummer. Sprained wrist is bad enough, broken much worse, but you are in good spirits about it all, and I guess it could possibly have been much worse. I enjoy cycling too but it only takes a momentary lapse of concentration to spell disaster. Good luck for the coming days and weeks mate.
  14. Meticulous work as ever Glijn, especially in the cockpit. Very unusual!
  15. Thanks a lot Matt. I’m looking forward to doing the tiny stencils tomorrow then moving on to the weathering, I’m trying a couple of “new to me” techniques so fingers crossed.
  16. I’m passing on this one anyway; 1/35 scale doesn’t appeal and I have no need of a Vb.
  17. Ah, didn’t realise there even had been a release already Thierry!
  18. Is this new news? Apologies if not. Available in June apparently: £59.95 from Jadlam.
  19. Thanks Rich, it’s not often I’ve done a plane in this later scheme so it’s been enjoyable and good practice for the Typhoon and Tempest yet to come. Agreed about the sheen Paul, all down to good old MRP paints! I guess their popularity is responsible for the increasing difficulty in getting hold of some colours. Yes Guy, major parts just the undercarriage because the prop and hood are done but not fitted. Weathering of course, a combination of oils and Flory dark dirt plus MRP exhaust soot etc.
  20. Bench time today and, I think, all painting finished apart from the stencils: One or two areas to apply small touch-ups but over all I'm happy with things so far.
  21. Glad the serial number masks arrived promptly Peter, you certainly didn't waste any time getting those painted!!!
  22. Congratulations Guy on building a stunningly superb Spitfire, she looks “right” in every respect, something very difficult to achieve in a model. Love the photographs also…..I’d frame one of those for my wall!
  23. Easy….. 1. Avro Anson: I have a Combat Models (now defunct I believe) partially built…..love it….must finish it. 2. Fairey Battle….I’d do mine as a target tug 3. North American Harvard Mk 1. My dream has always been to convert the KH T-6 but it’s a mega task. All of these simply because Dad flew them during his time in the RAF.
  24. Been too long, golf and gardening gets in the way, but: Just the yellow edges to the outer wing areas to do, that will see pretty much all of the painting done, weathering can then start.
  25. I love foiling, such a satisfying task and (usually) result. Great stuff Kent!
