  1. I think the amber is the correct one also. Radium would be this color. I have seen other older instruments green from age also. Oh, And I love your products and use them all the time.
  2. I wish someone would do the sharkmouth and decals for this cougar: http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/0/0a/QF-9J_Cougar_target_drone_at_China_Lake_in_1970.jpg
  3. I have been trying to buy a Skyraider prop for the last month or so from Sprue Brothers and they are always out of stock and the same with other items that interest me. I really hope not as they make some nice items.
  4. I think the weathering set will work. I like the MIG/Ammo stuff to work with but it's all mineral based so it's best to start with an acrylic basecoat or overcoat with an acrylic sealer. Just remember not to go overboard on the panel lines and make them too light. I did find a photo the other day of two F4U-4 Corsairs and with no gloss left on their paintwork and they looked well used. Remember though most Panther and Skyraiders were only a couple of years old at best. Land based marine aircraft did get really dirty though.
  5. I need a -4 for my Korean theme but I will wait and hope Tamiya do one as I know this kit is really bad. I'd really like a -5 also. you did a great job just getting it together!
  6. Really nice conversion ,build, and finish. I like your decal choice also. The weathering is just perfect. Well done.
  7. Very nice builds ! The Ki -84 is really nice!
  8. Your welcome and I hope we can share more of our build progress since we are building the same plane. Have you decided on what sea blue you will use? Xtracolor, Model Master and WEM colorcoats are the most accurate colors. I will go with a satin finish and slight weathering with exhuast and small chipping.
  9. I would buy a set from Eduard that has the buckles separate and then use those and make you own harnesses with lead foil. Thread the buckles through and you can place them in any position you want. If you want to add some texture to them where they are sewn around the buckle by just running the knurled part of your exacto handle or similar over them.
  10. I like the Aires pit very much and mine fit well when I made one a couple of years ago for a friend. I did use the Eduard color photo etch panel though as I thought it looked better than hand painting the Aires version.
  11. I wish you would do a F2H-2 Banshee as well as the -3 you are doing! the -2 is much more elegant and sleek.
  12. Now you are dreaming ! Perhaps just the forward fuselage.
  13. Wonderful finish and work considering how bad this kit is to assemble. I wish we had a new kit of the Mig-15 as I really like this plane.
  14. Beautiful paintwork and finish.
  15. My references indicate this as being black. I do not know if it was leather or fabric. I'm painting mine black. Many of the seat and shoulder harnesses were also Olive Drab not white as in WWII aircraft.
  16. Nice work and painting on the A-7 cockpit. You combined the best of both, photoetch instrument panel and resin sidewalls.
  17. Have you checked photos of the airplane you are modelling? Many AD-4's did not have twin 20mm in the wings. The airplane I am building only had two so I will fill the panels in the outer wing so at least I don't have to woryy about them not fitting perfectly. I liked your instrument panel and it looks really good. I think Skyraiders look best in blue.
  18. I do really like the looks of the box art and I think it will sell really well. So if they do S for Sugar the option could be G for George? I just Goggled S for Sugar and see G for George is in Australia! Both very historical aircraft.
  19. I would buy a B-29 and a A-26 Invader and especially a Tigercat! The A-26 would give them many possibilities from WWII to Korea and then Vietnam. I'd really like a gun nose Korean war version most!
  20. My stash is now small as I model only on the Korean war theme so there not many kits available but enough to keep me busy with the recent releases. The only exception is the B-25 as I like this airplane very much and they did use a few of them in Korea as hacks. But as I said before it's what makes you happy is the most important.
  21. Thank you Kev for pointing that out to me. I would be happy to share my work for others to see as it's how we learn different techniques and share ideas.
  22. When I immigrated recently to Australia from Ukraine I had to sell my collection of about 500 kits. Now I have about 4 1/200 scale ships and about 12 1/32 scale kits and I have less stress about what to build and I can afford to spend more on each kit. Really much happier as every kit I have I can't wait to build. I'm now I'm very selective in what I buy as I do not want to return to the past stash size. Really it's each man to his own and most important is what makes you happy.
  23. I think it will be more detailed than the B-17 but I like the Halifax more. It will look very good when built. Interesting call sign they chose on the fuselage but I am sure it's not true!
  24. Hi, no I only joined LSP today! So one would say I'm kind of new. Do you have to be a member for a certain amount of time before you can post your project builds? I would be happy to post some once I get a little more done. Thanks.
  25. Aires has only released two cockpits in 32 scale. One each for the Trumpy kit number Aires 2190 and the ZM kit number Aires 2178. Both cockpits are for the A-1H/J. They do not make a cockpit for the AD-4 yet! You can use the 2190 set with your Trumpeter kit and buy the Eduard color photo etch instrument panel for the AD-4 as I have. It works just fine and you have a better instrument panel than what Aires give you.. HTH
