  1. I can't wait for the "Coon-Ass Stack to come next. Wonder if it has "Gator Meat" patties, Mudbug E'toufee Sauce and a few shots of "Tabasco" for good measure! Probably use Swamp People and Duck Dynasty types as customers and a Creole taking their orders. jack From Looooooose E Anna
  2. Thank You Dan, She was a lot of fun to build, especially since you don't see many built. Love the Classic Plastic Thank You Peter, She was a pretty straightforward except a small warpage in the fuselage. Thank You Mike, Please get an inexpensive Revell Classic Plastic and build and paint it, without the urge to detail it. Stay in the bounds of contest OOB. Its fun and refreshing and a great pallet to try some different schemes. I had to explain to the judge, why I didn't remove all of the green & gray paint. TRY IT.....YOU'LL LIKE IT!! jack
  3. Thank You Shawn, Advantage of building OOB. I've built your Typhoon OOB also a few years ago! I like the K.I.S.S. method, I'm lazy] Cheers jack
  4. Alain, This is some RIGHTEOUS WORK! You keep blowing me away with your talent.a As long as you have a plan that works for you . CAN"T WAIT!!
  5. I don't think you can see the shapes and how things flow on this bird. 3D is a whole different look, I can appreciate the design by seeing and compare to US or Brit designs. The GEORGE looks close to a P-47, but not as muscular. I never dreamt of acquiring this rarity when I started my J2M3 JACK 3 months ago, but here I 'm (Traded HC P-38H/J with some AM decals). Will build more when I get the museum planes done. JURRASIC PLASTIC ROCKS!!!!! jack
  6. An A-1E I would buy, Id sell/ Trade my Dragon Saturn V
  7. NICE....Love Challengers,......Built mine in 84 along with the Cuda. I think they are in a file cabinet in the shed along with a Jo-Han Superbird in Yellow. Been in there for 19 years. Need to Barn Find mine and try this. Sweet underhood..........Interior? MOTHER MOPAR jack
  8. OK, not quite done yet, While building I mentioned the warp in the fuselage and someone responded about the warp in the wings. I could see why someone would think warped wings. it's a reverse gull-wing along the trailing edge I did not remove the gun gondolas from the bottom of the wing?...... OOB you know Kept the removable lower cowl, to expose the engine,,,Radials are KOOL!!
  9. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Thanks, I needed that! T'anks HARV!!
  10. Thanks Brad Thanks Alain, I was happy with the kit decals in the end, I know they're not "Show quality", but she will still be in the OOB category. Some day they will all be part of a collection. As for the B-47, I'll probably use it as a "Break from the KC-10" when it starts to GRIND on me. I build the B-47 years ago and looking forward to doing this one again. I do love building the Classic Plastic! jack
  11. Well Folks, Here is what a Rare Revell N1K1-J Shiden, Allied Code name GEORGE, looks like out of the box with glue and paint. Had some work things that slowed production towards the end, but she is now the 3rd in my Captured Japanese Fighter Collection. Now I'll be posting in the Non-LSP for the rest of the year with a Anigrand 1/72 KC-10 and Hasagewa B-47 for the museum. ENJOY!
  12. I've used acrylic, enamel and lacquer as washes over Future. The only thing I now that will damage Future after it cures. Ammonia, which is in Windex. If you dip a clear part in Future and find debris, dust...soak in Windex. I let mine cure for 24 hours between application and decals and visa-versa. I've been using this stuff since the late 80's and have had exactly 2 problems (1) Cutting Edge tail stripe decal on my PG1 (2) 1 Hobby Craft NVAF decal on my MiG-19. Don't know about Tamiya X-22 except I can buy a 27 Fl Oz bottle of Future for what 2 1/3 Fl Oz X-22. Just my 2 cents jack
  13. Thank You Jim. Not sure about the total pro part but was willing to compromise with this "Rare" build. To use what was in the box since it came with the decals that fit my collection criteria. I'm happy with the results even though there is some silvering Now to get some time to mask and paint the canopy and anti-glare shield.
  14. Thanks Guy's, This is what I have decided, to try to use the kit decals thru-out, knowing I probably will have some silvering with them. After the Star n Bar "Crack-up" I coated the stripes and tail markings a 2nd time. I tried to float them on Future with limited success. OK she isn't a Show winner but she will be entered and will become part of the 6 plane collection of Captured Japanese Fighters. I never would have thought I would get wrapped up in WWII Japanese aircraft
  15. The work you have put into this build is AMAZING! Interesting airplane, but I'm to lazy and will stick to what Revell Takara gave me.... Don't stop now as you are starting to put the sub-assemblies together. As LIGHT at the end of the TUNNEL! Cheers Jack
  16. Whatca Think? Thanks Mark........Whatca Think? Appreciate it Bill.....Whatca Think
  17. Back from the Tom Petty - Joe Walsh Concert in Little Rock Ark. 3 Generations of Crumbliss'..Whata Weekend!!! Managed to lay the Rudder decal down on the right side with a few very small pieces coming off. 2 coats of Future on these decals, before applying the decal, after the Star N Bar fiasco. Will try to add the left side tomorrow and mask the canopy for the last big step...Hate masking canopies! I'll cover with Future to remove the FOG.
  18. Thanks Shawn. Did a little repair with some Dark Sea Blue. Looking at a possible Beige and off white on the star. Packin' for HotSprings this weekend since my 2 daughters and a grandson are taking my wife and I to the Tom Petty Concert on Sunday....3 Generations of Crumbliss'. No progress this weekend, hope I can finish before the deadline..
  19. Wanting to use the kit decals for a true OOB. Coated them with a brushed on Future coat and 2 for the Rudder Stripes. The Fuselage S&B separated a fraction. Think I can make a respectable repair. I feel the kit decals can enhance the build of a rarely done kit, Rudders will be painted if necessary.....Carry On McDuff!
  20. Thanks Brad, I painted a coat on the decals Thanks Shawn
  21. Well I decided to try the kit decals to make it truly Out of the BOX. I did the underwing Star & Bar first in this experiment It only broke into 7 pieces,....it could have been worse. I've now given each decal a coat of Future....Yes still on the sheet. I tried this once before with a good success rate, but newer decals. I will look to decide if a second coat may help along with keeping the decal paper from curling up. Seems the cracking started when I tried to uncurl the backing paper. If all else fails I need 2 P-51 Fuselage Star & Bar if anyone has a couple to spare. Never mind the little brown spot on the decal, I've since removed it and the lint.
