Mistral got a reaction from Royboy in New year, will we learn of any new LSPs from “quiet” manufacturers?
Mirage F1 please - used in numerous aerial altercations including Angola in the 80's having taken care of some Cuban MiG-21s.

Hey John, that E is looking sweet. I have my 32nd IIIE lined up ready and waiting. Simple grey Cheetah E camo. Please make the intake pylons as well !!!! And then of course, please scale up your 48th Cheetah C set to 32nd. We appreciate aftermarket guys like yourself putting in the hard work to give us some great options.

As a side note, once your E is done, maybe look at doing an F1 nose and refueling probe so that we can make the prettiest of the species : the Venzuelan 50 !!!!

Hey Sean, great looking Hind. I really like the patchwork on the blades. It's only right that it dominates the "ground target". Now we just need a SAAF Impala Mk2 attacking from above.

2000 grit sanding sponge, followed by various grades of Micromesh down to 12,000. Finish off with 10 minutes in front of the TV using digit finger and Tamiya polishing compound,. Rinse carefully in Luke warm water and dish soap. Hey presto. I always battled to get that final clear look until a fellow modeller told me to use my fingertip to apply the Tamiya polishing compound. Circular movements work. For a seam line, as above, but preceded with a coarser sanding stick.

Yes please !!!! Glad they're going with the two seater. It'll go nicely with my 32nd Mirage III collection. Now where's that ever elusive 32nd scale F1 ????

Gerhard, you're right. However, SAAF didn't operate the 2000 but we love those deltas nonetheless ! I'm really hoping for an F1 !!!!

Mistral reacted to Starfighter in 1/32 Starfighter Chinese kit?
I agree with Eric - whilst I personally think the Italeri certainly is not up to the standard a kit released in 2013 should have, it builds into a fine model (and is available around €60 in Europe which certainly is not expensive for a 32nd scale kit.) with some effort. The Hasegawa kit is a pig to rescribe due to the very hard and brittle plastic they have used. Ask me how I know... and I am certainly not afraid of rescribing a model.

Those figurines look interesting though - does anybody have a link to an auction or so? Might be interested in getting a set.

Regarding Eric's two last and very true statements, I recommend this (found on FB) - not addressed at anybody particular, BTW   :

I stand by my comments. Whilst everyone was mashing their keyboard in angry agreement with the numerous in box reviews of both Italeris latest efforts, being the 104 and the Mirage, I quietly assembled both kits and now have 2 very fine examples of type in my display cabinets which are every bit as good as the other kits that also reside there.

I really shake my head at modellers these days that will write a kit off without building it or fail to use some seemingly long forgotten modelling skills to quickly fix small issues.

Sure the kits mentioned have some issues but I am yet to build a kit that doesn't.

Mistral got a reaction from Chris Wimmer in Flying Legend 2016 - Duxford
Two years ago, I got a train direct from London to Duxford station. No need to go to Cambridge. Trip was about 1.5 hours. It's about a 2 to 3km walk from the station up to the airfield. Quite nice as you walk to the sound of aircraft. Stayed in the Holiday Inn Express which is right next to the station. Pretty expensive though. Nice pub next door with cold beers to soothe a parched throat.

Hi Eric. Try saairforce.co.za. Under forums look for page titled "Profiles and artwork". Most probably the best profile artwork of SAAF and other Mirage IIIs including SAAF IIICs. There's also a reference section on all SAAF aircraft on that site.

I hope you're correct with all the nose options Dutik. It would be great for Kinetic to offer the IIIR/RD and 5 in the E boxing, the way they did with the 1/48 kit.

But I'm happy to build the Italeri IIIC kit right away (looks like next year's F-4s are going to get pushed back three months) and get any of their subsequent releases, whatever they happen to be. Mirage III is one of my all-time favourites. Still hoping, however, that Kitty Hawk pop a Jaguar and Mirage F.1 in 1/32.
