  1. I would be entirely fine with just the windscreen correction, everything else I can deal with on my own.
  2. I really enjoyed building the Trump Mig-29C and love the look of it in my display cabinet but there are quite a few issues to correct ( windscreen front corners, LERX starts too far back, top of engine cowlings are too pronounced). All relatively easy to fix, but it‘s not a Tamiya F-16 build. Cheers, Marcel
  3. A friend of mine is just finishing up the Italeri A, it will be a really nice model, the shape looks good to my eye. Surface detail is a bit rough but ok. The Trumpeter C nose profile is visibly off, doesn‘t have the birds beak lower profile. Imo not buildable without a nose correction, although that should be easy to print. Also agree with Dave‘s comments about the overly deep RAM depressions on the tail. Cheers, Marcel
  4. Only just came across these two Mirages now…. Wow, absolutely stunning! Exquisitely built, weathering looks very convincing also. Cheers, Marcel
  5. Dutik, thanks for explaining yourself, although the intent has always been clear to me. The message of your post is equivalent to you spending months considering the selection of a new car, you then purchasing it and driving it to work and a person at work telling you it’s the ugliest car on the parking lot. It’s an insult of your choice and not an insult of your car design skills. Or another example would be you leaving a comment on Chuck‘s current F-16 thread stating that it’s the ugliest scheme on an F-16 you‘ve ever seen. You‘d be insulting his choice of camo scheme and I‘m pretty sure that wouldn’t be well received by Chuck. I‘m not entirely convinced of the sincerity of your walk-back since it only happened after Chuck, who obviously has a huge following around here, responded to your post. You also continue to refer to the scheme as ugly (I obviously disagree else I wouldn’t have selected the scheme). Cheers, Marcel
  6. Beautiful work al round, especially on the cockpit! Wow! With respect to the Aires wheel bay, it seems to fit perfectly into the Academy kits but not so much into the Tamiya kits, at least that has been my experience. You may also want to check the sit of the F-16 with main gear on, I've hear it said that the stance of the airplane when using the Aires wheel bay on the Tamiya kit is no longer correct, with the airplane sitting too heavy at the back. Looking at my NSAWC F-16A, I think this may in fact be true. Also check that wings are perfectly level. Cheers, Marcel
  7. Looking just incredible! Wow! Makes me think I'll need to do that riveting and the nose fix on my F-4B also :-/
  8. I finished this back in November, only got around to taking finished pics now. This was one of the most work-intensive builds I have done, I'm really pleased with the way it turned out. I have good reference pics for both sides of the aircraft, but the center top camo scheme was a bit of guesswork. The leading edges and nose really had a sand-blasted look about them. Note that the outside launch rails really are angled slightly upward with respect to the lower rail. Although not perfect, I'm pretty happy with the tight fit between the wings and the gloves, this can be an eyesore. I used a lot of Archer welds on the tanks, quite pleased with how that turned out. Big thanks to Ali for supplying the gear! Aires exhausts. The carbon fiber shrouds were drilled out and small pieces of Al rod inserted int the holes to simulate the very visible hex bolts. Black Box cockpit, scratch-built sidewalls, Some Red Fox Studio, Legend Seats. Plus a whole bunch of 3D printed extras like the canopy locks. And in looking at these pics I've noticed that I forgot the standby compass :-/ Magnified shot. I added a ton of detail to the gear, but this pic shows I could have dirtied things a little more. Ben's vents make the model look significantly better. Note the little white string on the nose. Big thanks to Severin for printing the various sensors and antennas, makes a big difference. I used the Trumpeter Tomcat inside air intakes, worked really well. Note the scratch-built towbar attachments aft of the ventral fins. Cheers, Marcel
  9. Well done John, great to see this unique, excellently researched and beautifully built model complete, congrats! Cheers, Marcel
  10. Your encouragement and general air of positivity is noted. And you know what they say about opinions, which no doubt includes opinions on camo scheme choices. Looking forward to taking a close look at your models at the next EME. Cheers, Marcel
  11. Shoot, missed the window, my vote would have been for the B-58. F-16XL would also be good, would have the major benefit of being able to source the canopy from leftover Tamiya or Academy since we always get two with those kits, assuming you would design it that way. To be honest, I‘d also just appreciate fixes to some kits that are imo not buildable without them (or significant scratchbuilding), eg AV-8B pylons and exhausts, A-7 windscreen and canopy (not sure if you can do clear parts easily). Cheers, Marcel
  12. I received the kit. Looks neat overall. The raised panels look ok to me but I may change my mind on that after a coat of paint is in. On the down side, the nose is really off, it doesn’t feature the „bird beak“ profile at the bottom and seems generally too blunt. Imo the kit is not buildable without a nose correction, but with 3-D printing becoming so prolific this should be forthcoming. Another oddity are the deep cutouts at the bases of the vertical stabs, these are fixable. The wing „rivets“ will also need to be filled but that’s easy to do. Cheers, Marcel
  13. Hi guys, I‘ve started my VF-111 F-4B build (1972 cruise). I’m getting confused about which ejection seats were used by the F-4B at the time, was it the Mk5 or the Mk7? Thanks, Marcel
  14. Thx Jeroen, that‘s the Belgian Scale Modellers Convention
  15. Almost finished with this one. A friend is still printing some antennas for me and that will then be it. Here are some quick phone pics. Some super high mag pics of the cockpit A friend of mine printed the canopy locks, other than that the frame is scratch-built And this is how I'll display here at the Belgian convention in two weeks time... well, hopefully with the missing antennas Will be hangin' with the Scale Navy team, can't wait! I'll take and post some better pics once everything is truly finished. Cheers, Marcel
