  1. hey, Danny, I have this one on the stack. My look through the kit left me very excited about this one. Did you have any areas that presented a challenge during the build? I figured I would ask before I start on mine this summer. I tend to build mostly 48th, but a few 32nd and 1/24th (THE Mossie). BTW, anyone reading this have any Paragon 1/24th ammo belts they would be willing to part with? Thanks, Dale
  2. If you need to remove enamels, I find brake fluid works GREAT. I keep brake fluid in a sandwich sized tupperwear container along with a soft bristled toothbrush. I slather brake fluid on the model and let it sit for about an hour. I use the toothbrush to scrub the paint off. In fact, I just stripped a 109 last night. I washed the plane off with hot, soapy water and let it air dry. It is COMPLETELY stripped and ready for new paint. And, brake fluid will NOT damage plastic at all. I have a set of gear doors I inadvertently let sit in the brake fluid for months and they are fine. Hope th
  3. You may want to try filling that gap with some sheet styrene cut to fit. I am not sure the putty will hold in a gap that wide. I build mostly 1/48th, but when I run into a gap that wide I add sheet to fill it and then putty as needed.
  4. My DC600R is dead quiet. I sometimes leave it on by accident when I am done in the room. Damned thing runs off and on all through the night and I do NOT hear in my bedroom. Great compressor. I have had mine for about a year now and it still works like a champ. Dale
  5. Hey, Kev, Thanks for the welcome. is there a section where I should intro myself? I do tend to build mostly 1/48, but I do have a few 1/32 and a single 1/24 (Airfix's Mossie). Later, Dale
  6. I was in my LHS today and had a chance to look over a pre-release kit of Tamiya's new 1/32 F-4U. Darned nice kit with amazing surface details and typical Tamiya quality. This should be one killer kit. Suggested retail of $199.99 right now though. Pre-orders were at 25% discount. Dale
