I am using the excellent Master barrels on this build, so as not to cover the sublime detail with layers of paint I am using the Uschie blackening agent

Above we have the liquid and the PE/machined brass components.
Below the awesome Master items

Below, The brass go's into the fluid which I mixed 50/50 with tap water to slow down the reaction time

Below, Voila!! they turn a nice gun metal black!!


And finally the finished items, just need the finishing touches to the rear gun {ammo,brace and wood work}

I have prepped the wings in anticipation of applying the Aviattic lozenge decals, these decals are translucent so a heavy pe shade was used

I have started on the pilot and observer as the pilot needs to be fitted before the turtle deck.
They are the Wings Cockpit Figures set.
I started by cleaning up the castings, the observer in particular needed some work, one of his arms was totally hollow with just a thin veneer of resin holding the shape of the arm. I filled this void with putty.
I paint figures in oils over an enamel undercoat.


The figures assembled and undercoated with Tamias fine surface primer


I first paint an area in enamel in the approximate colour that it will end up in, when dry I apply oil colour, remove most of it, then shade and highlight as necessarry.
I start from the head and work my way down going from the inside out, so I would first paint the shirt, then jacket followed by webbing and straps etc

More progress on the LVG, I got the rest of the wood grain decals on and as Eric G had scorched earth all of our LHS supplies of Tamiya clear I payed him a visit and he kindly allowed me to use his gucci workshop to shoot a coat of clear over the wood grain to seal in the decals.
After a days drying I applied the WNW decals, still have to seal them and apply the panel washes but here is the progress so far.




 
And with the engine covers temporarily attached

I grabbed the Wingnut LVG when it first came out, started it. did a crappy job on the interior and then consigned her to the shelf of doom where she sat until recently.
I was inspired to start again when I sHi All
aw reports of the excellent Uschie woodgrain decals and wanted a project to give them a try on.
I obtained a set of the Wings Cockpit Figures LVG/Hannover crew which I plan to install to hide the IMHO sub standard (my fault) interior.
As the aircraft would be crewed I will be fitting the engine covers, even so I wired up the motor although I wasn't to careful as to where the wires terminated on the magnetos as they won't be seen.As for using the Uschie woodgrain decals, this is not a cheat or easy way to go as a lot of prep is needed. The decals are translucent and so careful undercoating and bold (well bolder than usual) preshading is needed.

I just received mine in the mail, awesome!! The fuse and outer wing panels are fiberglass like, with very fine engraving.
The wings are hollow one peice items, no mating of top and bottom halves needed.
Master brass guns, HGW belts, masks provided for all glasings and the national markings and codes for both options, decals for stencilling, Eduard colour photo etch.
Expensive, yes but nothing else to purchase apart from paint and glue.
Oh yeah, chocolate included!!

This will be my first WIP project on this forum. I have spent the last year slowly building up the parts I wanted, kit will be comprised as follows. This build will be my main job for the summer as i am expecting it to take 3 months atleast.
 
1/32 Academy F-16I SUFA Storm, Isradecals Publications F-16I SUFA, Wolfpack Cockpit Set, Wolfpack Exterior Set, Aires Landing Gear Bays, Eduard Ejection Seat Etch and Wheeliant Wheels.
 
1st of all i have to say what a great kit, the detail is fantastic and there are standard options though not included in the instructions to build a standard F-16D and the F-16D Barak with minor modifications to the spine, both variations of intake and engine nozzle included.
Plenty of extra ordnance as well, including a rather nice Sniper XR Pod, all in all allot of kit for your money.
I have started with the cockpit resin, the level of detail is amazing and it fits straight into the body on the standard lugs with no fitting required, I like that.

Hi all,
After about 2 months the J1 is done, like all WNW kits no problems occurred so long as I followed the instructions to the letter and ensured that no paint adhered to any mating surfaces.
I added a couple of the Wings Cockpit Figures which were painted in artists oils over enamel
Better pics taken in a light tent will soon be up on the IPMS Queensland Facebook page (like them :-)

Hi All,
After the joys of rigging the Re8 I wanted an easy OOB build and thought the WNW J1 fitted the bill.
Like Eric G, I wanted to remain true to the QMHE OOB rules so only intend to use kit parts, I feel justified to fix the notorious gap in the ailerons and use wire as the engine pushrods as the kit specifically allows for this option by supplying pre drilled parts.
First, the aileron fix, Evergreen strip and rods

And have created the wood effect on all the 'woodie parts', oils over Tamiya deck tan
