  1. Wow and thank you very much! Sounds like it’s safe to use the -3 cockpit set for the -5 then. Thanks again!
  2. Hello, I recently purchased the Trumpeter SBD-5 version and was wondering about getting the Kelik 3D cockpit decal set for it but the set is designed for the -3 version. What are the differences if any and would they be noticeable if installed again if any? Thanks in advance.
  3. I'm going to get a very large box soon with a Lancaster, B-17E/F, Do 335B, and a Ju 87G. Funny thing was that I was going to get the first 2 earlier last week but something told me to wait and see what the weekend deal was going to be. I think it cost me more in the long run but lots more fun I reckon. I hate Paypal credit!!!!
  4. I just bought this set up from ebay and got it last week. Extremely quiet and awesome value so far. Hopefully will last several years. I included a link. I am not affiliated with this company. 5. I have been contemplating digging my pro modeller boxing out and giving it a go lately. I have the quick boost cockpit seats and belts for a.m. as of now. Maybe some wiring for instruments and what not. Watching this one to get an even worse itch to get it out.😀
  6. It appears to be there still. First page if set on 100 item per page about 3/4 the way down in the trumpeter list. Here is a link straight to the intruder. There are 26 left at this time.http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp02250-os.htm I don't believe you have to have a membership for any reason. Just an account with a user name and password to order.
  7. Spruce bros for $129.00 if anyone wants to get it cheap. 36 left at the time of this posting. Here is a link: http://store.spruebrothers.com/product_p/trp02250-os.htm If this doesn't work just check out their website. Lots of stuff on sale but not much big scale stuff.
  8. It would probably never happen, but I would like to see a T-37. A T-38 would be awesome as well.
  9. Not trying to be pushy, but I need some eye candy.
  10. I just pulled my kit out to look at the exhaust issue because I couldn't remember AND HOLY COW! what were they thinking!? That definitely needs some reaming or aftermarket. Just my 2 cents.
  11. Gets the rusty gears going here making me want to pull my kit out of the large pile of doom and start in again. I always thought it is the best looking out of all the older MiGs. Will be watching with interest.

That must have been really awesome to attend. I just found out that the 188th is loosing their A-10s for UAVs. So sad. I left the unit about 2 years before they transitioned to the Hog. I wish I could have stayed but the commute was starting to take its toll from Wichita to Ft. Smith. Crewing Hogs would have been awesome from a maintainer's perspective. I hope that you don't mind if I use your pic. I can always change it if need be.

I found it on google images. I was a member of the 188th for 6 years assigned to a/c 82-0924 and then 86-0210. Enjoyed almost every minute of it.

Here is a pic of a Dutch Block 5 w/ large stab installed. http://www.f-16.net/g3/f-16-photos/album37/album13/bdo

Finding pics with ac serial #'s is proving difficult. Safe to say that if it is a Block 15 or later it will definitely have the larger stab. Maybe I am thinking of a couple of retired test a/c from Edwards that was in our mx hangar.

I am not trying to pick a fight here but here is some proof that they were retrofitted on earlier blocks. And also, I remember working on Blocks 5 and 10s in F-16 crew chief tech school down in good ole Sheppard AFB, Wichita Falls, TX that had the larger stabs installed. http://www.f-16.net/f-16_versions_article3.html

The stabs were indeed on the very early blocks and when the A.F. decided to hang bombs on the wings it was discovered that the smaller stabilators weren't making the a/c as agile as it should be hence the larger stabs. And most of the earlier blocks except for the some that went to Europe had the larger stabs installed in the field.
  18. That looks like the spiffiness I need. Thanks a lot!
  19. Does anyone know a mixing ratio with what colors of paint that is the quickest way to interior green? I really like using Tamiya paints and use them almost exclusively. I was thinking of using their yellow zinc chromate and one of their greens. Don't know which though. TIA
  20. That is what I thougth, might be good for a show a/c or a '70 Chevelle but not for a war weary dive bomber. I guess I will go with the age old black wiring and go from there.
  21. Long time listener, first time caller on posting WIPs, I don't know how this is going to work out. I am working on the Wright engine and was curious what you guys think of the looks of this. I am wondering if the wiring is too much or if I need to tone the color down some. I am learning on how to post pics so please bear with me and if you have any pointers, stick em to me. Please. Thanks.
  22. I have the Trumpeter kit and as you probably it is the L-5 model. Are there any external differences between the L and the J? Just wondering because I don't want to use the kit decals and am having a heck of a time trying to find decals for the L. Lots of J though. TIA
