  1. To whom it may concern! I won a book by an anonymous donor, but I have not heard from that person since the draw. It’s an Osprey book on the P-51. Would be highly appreciated to receive a message so my address can be sent privately. Thank you! Alain
  2. « …he started off as a Luftwaffe figure ». Always good to turn one away from the dark side! Inspiring work on the figures, somehow they sort of scare me. Should try one as they add so much to the finished model. Alain
  3. That kit looks like a waste of polystyrene plastic. In the pic above, the ‘109 looks like an old-tool 1/72 scale kit!
  4. Hi Kagemusha, PM me with adress so I can ship the Bf 109 F2! Alain
  5. Excellent paint job! Looks fantastic with the subtle weathering.
  6. I don’t doupt it, it’s just the obvious difference that came to me from memory. I have the Revell 1/72 kit, which had a mix of versions… Thanks for the link! Alain
  7. The text says it is an early production model, can if I am correct, can be identified by the triangular shaped fin.
  8. Great start on the project! The PE flaps are very impressive and excellent work on detailing the wheel wells. Alain
  9. Excellent sujet!* The story of this escadrille is quite epic, and came to the help of the SSSR at a very difficult time for them. They were offered to fly any aircraft they wanted, including any of the allied ones, and chose the Yaks. The fact that the Klimov was a development of the Hispano-Suiza might have helped. Alain *Excellent subject! You see, French is very much like English!
  10. I think it was a Mr Fusion reactor, fuelled by harmless banana peels.
  11. Using the Revell closed canopy seems to be the easiest option, if it is possible to successfully separate the windscreen from the sliding portion. Alain
  12. That was favorite picture in the yet fantastic collection above. The light angle brings out so well all those details you mentioned. Airframes never have the smooth, perfect surfaces we imagine. In a previous build here on LSP, someone had the same problem with the windscreen. I seem to remember it was simply trimmed on the bottom. Alain
  13. Well, something has to try to counterbalance the drag of all those wires!
  14. I had a vision in my sleep… I can’t be wrong, can I?
  15. If you can find new CD or DVD casings it’s a great source of thin clear styrene. Could be the correct thickness you need. Alain
  16. Nice work on the brake lines. Did you use styrene rod? If so, how did you manage all the tight bends without breaking it? Alain
  17. Please include me in this raffle, as donor and recipient. Here’s what I’m giving away, a Hasegawa Bf109 F2. The kit has a quickboost seat, that solves a weak point of this kit.
  18. It’s going to be a challenge for sure. The trouble with silver pigment is that it is completely opaque, so a coat a bit too thick might just completely cover the underlying camo paint. A light coat may show little specks of metallic that would not look good. Definitely some tests will be the best way to go. Just a thought, perhaps if your suggested technique doesn’t work, maybe paint all silver, and overcoat with camo paint thinned with some clear to create an effect you can build up over the appropriate areas of the model. Alain
  19. Checked out your build, looks really impressive for such a basic kit! The surface details make all the difference. Alain
  20. Very curious about how this old kit holds up when assembled and painted! Alain
  21. Wow! Great bases (the bridge and sea flashing by) and incredible paint job on the models! Alain
  22. It’s the « any version » that triggered my facetious response! Still, so many interwar design deserve to be kitted! Alain
  23. What a great looking MiG! I really like the camo and markings. The scratched paint is also well done! Alain
