  1. You can still find them if you look around, I got this one at Telford. Saw a few other dealers who had one.
  2. Hi gang, I decided to blatantly rip-off Shawn's concept of a single thread with multiple builds. Not sure if I'll be putting in a lot of in-progress shots but I do plan on putting pics of non LSP-models I've finished. I'll say in advance they won't be perfect builds but I'll be happy with them. To start off here's Airfix's 1/48 Javelin I just finished for a group build on Facebook. Hope you enjoy this rare occasion of me finishing a kit!
  3. Glad it's not the E.IV! I just went and ordered that one, just to be safe. I have no willpower...
  4. That's only for Europe, Jack, people in the US don't pay import duty.
  5. The few close up photographs I've found seem to indicate both type of guns were used. I bought the .303 barrels from Master for my kit. If it's wrong, too bad, doesn't look like anyone will knows for sure. It's quite funny, I asked these questions because I was a bit worried I'd be building a completely inaccurate variant. Now by NOT getting all straight answers I feel more confident about building it. Not trying to mock anyone here, all of your answers are much appreciated.
  6. Got the Eduard sets with the kit so I'm going to stick with those. Are the Part ones more accurate? I do notice Eduard does nothing to fix the floor, only adds more detail to it.
  7. Thanks for your input, so in summary: - I'd need a British .303 set of guns barrels, Master Model seems to do a nice set of those - The cockpit may need to be changed, won't bother with that. I'll try and make what I have look nice, won't see much of it any way. - For the drop tank I'd assume if it wasn't installed on a mission, the braces wouldn't be installed either? I was looking into maybe trying to fit the drop tank from the Hasegawa P-40N but the tank seems to be of a different type than the one that went on the C
  8. While looking for a subject to build for the 100 year anniversary ot the RAF I came across the awesome 112 Squadron color schemes for the P-40 Tomahawk. Problem is all of the decal sets seem to be for the MKIIb while the Trumpy is an "a" variant. From what I've read it would need some mounting points and a couple of extra guns in the wings. I was wondering if there are any conversion sets out there (couldn't find any on Scalemates) and if there are any other things that need to be changed. (apart from errors on the kit)
  9. Oops my mistake with the Spitfires. I've reconsidered and come to the conclusion that the new kit will be a Stipa Caproni!
  10. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong but if we consider that their recent previous releases have been kits that: -Did not have a decent mainstream kit at the time of release (only old toolings or inaccurate ones) - Have been previously tooled by Tamiya in 1/48 - Were all popular aircraft I'd say a Beaufighter or a Mig-15
  11. I'd understand it if the purchased goods were in direct competition with European products but for these kind of goods it just feels like plain (or plane ) robbery. Especially the "handling fee". Oh we took ten seconds to look inside your package, that'll be 15 euros please. Then again where do you draw the line as to what's competition and what isn't... Still, it sucks!
  12. Unless one lives in "That'll be 21% VAT, 5% Import duty and €15 handling fee"-Europe...
  13. Great idea and great execution, Vaughn, would be cool to explore a place like that if it existed.
  14. My first time using the HGW belts I was nearly finished when I realized they have backing paper.
  15. Check out Copper State Models, they have some upgrades.
  16. Cool, I love floaty flying thingies! Keeping my fingers crossed for a Seiran at some point.
  17. If you want an Emil it's the best option out there.
  18. Only the Metal Color line uses these bottles, they have the same caps as the *shudder* Vallejo primers . This paint line was specifically designed as an acrylic alternative to Alclad metallics and while they're not "quite" as good, they're significantly better than their Model Color/Air metallic paints.
  19. Small update, I just received a couple of new bottles and it appears they're supplied with a shaking ball now, so that's the "don't shake them" theory out the window. There also seems to be a bit of confusion about the type of paint this thread is about. I'm talking about these: Not these :
  20. I don't care about historical significance for me it's all aesthetics and I really like the looks of this one.
  21. Cool looking plane, I'm up for one!
  22. If shaking isn't recommended I reckon any kind of bead is a bad idea. It does explain the problems I've had...
