  1. Know what you mean Wolf ............................ I've had more than one or two projects that I just tossed in the trash because I was so disgusted with it !!! Sometimes I just don't have that perseverance, especially when it comes down to the finish line and something goes wrong that would entail practically starting all over.
  2. Paul, have you ever built a complete scratch project just from prints and drawings? If so, would love to see it/them. Will
  3. T-Rex didn't leave much .................................
  4. Watch Lathe ? .................. is that an actual tool, or are you putting us (me) on???
  5. Aaaaaw ....................... we wanna see pictures!
  6. 47???? ................................. wait till you get to 68!! ............................................... It's STILL enjoyable!
  7. Eagle (the name is Paul- right?) painting is my big preoccupation also. Having started with an airbrush only a few years ago, I STILL do a lot of experimentation, not only with techniques, but also with paint brands and all the associated thinners and such. There is such an array of choices it's mind boggling. To simplify things (as much as possible, and because they work best in my airbrush) I've rather settled (for the most part) on Tamiya products. I still get myself in trouble though now and then. When in doubt, use same name-brand products!
  8. Quite some introductory post. Welcome aboard. Will be anxiously watching for future additions. Will
  9. ChuchT, are you talking about using Tamiya's reg. paints with lacquer thinner ? I've used Tamiya's lacquer thinner only (no common brands) and it does work great, and leaves a very hard finish. Do you use other brands of lacquer thinner? Will
  10. I'm looking forward to this also, as I have never seen a completed model of it.
  11. Apache, welcome to the forum. I find the brass tubing fidly but not hard to do. It can be cut with a hobby knife by rolling your knife over it at a 90 degree angle. Redrill the center (if you need to) All kinds of methods of working with it. Will
  12. Is that the one in shinny red plastic ? ............................................. showing my age!!
  13. Welcome to the forum. Congrats. on your new addition. I just got my newest today, an Early Snipe .................. awaaaaaaaaaaaaay we go!
  14. Hey, it's your build, if you want guns on it ............ put guns on it ! I won't tell....................
  15. Wolf, with your setup, do you use a flash? Dumb question, I'm guessing ............... NOT!!!
  16. I'll check with Spru Brothers. I order from them a lot, we are in the same state of Missouri. Thanks
  17. Oooo nice extras ................... what are the pre-cut wood grain decals ........... maker ............ where purchased? Will
  18. Great work Wolf ! Everything else will probably look HUGE to you . Will
  19. I've read the Encore boxings have very GOOD decals. No personal experience, just what I've read in reviews.
  20. I like your choice ..................... I was thinking of doing an early version. Does Pheon have any new schemes for the Snipe? Will
  21. I like the idea of trying the fit to the frame at this point ................. something I did NOT do on my first build (WNW Pfalz D.XII) Turned out 99% OK, but didn't quite line up with machine guns later. Will
  22. This one had crossed my mind to enter with ............................. still undecided. So I'll watch your build with close interest. Looking forward to it! Have you done Roden kits before? Will
  23. Why not use the WNW "extra" lozenge decals? Just curious.
  24. The other day I was looking for a part, from my Pfalz D.XII, that had fallen onto the carpeted floor under my work bench, part being half of one of the ammo chutes. In the process of being on my hands and knees with a flashlight, what do I find? Not the part, but TWO (mind you) .5 x 3mm cut tubes I'm using as turn buckles!! May never ever happen again. BTW, I DID find the part latter on. Wolf, what method do you use to fasten the apron to the work bench? Will
