And I know, since the journey around the world, there has been some changes to the 'Silver Spitfire'. The Auxiliary Fuel Tank has been removed, the Antenna/Gps has been replaced with the original Antenna. I don't know why but the rudder has also been replaced? Cheers: Kent

Thank you, I am very pleased with effect. I think it's the best approach using foil. I wanted to give the surface some texture and the foil certainly helps, if you don't want to go full 'oil canning'. Cheers: Kent

OK, I will give it a go Aircraft that will never get 'kittet' in 1/32 scale.. Lockheed Electra Dornier Do 17 'Wal' Sikorsky S-38 And the list goes on and on.... See what I'm doing here? Although all famous aircraft, they aren't wartime planes and therefore they will never get 'kittet'... What I will never understand, is why we haven't got a Sikorsky SH-3/S-61 Sea King in 1/35-1/32 scale? Cheers: Kent

Update on the 'foiling' The majority of the foil is mounted. Still some ways to make the details of the surfaces look right. It's almost 'therapeutic' and it's my first 'foiled' model and it won't be the last... Cheers: Kent

First tests with foil... I did some initial testing with chrome paint, but decided to go for the aluminum foil. It's a lot of work, but I think it's going to pay off in the end. The shininess isn't too much, it has scratches and ripples, the rivets are barely visible as on the original aircraft. Overall the Foil adds to the 'illusion' of the aluminum surfaces. There will be some imperfections, but overall I'm satisfied with the result. Cheers: Kent

I'm trying to revive this build for the LSP Silver Jubilee... Since I was working on this project, I was pleased to learn that the 'Silver Spitfire' has been based, of all places, at Billund Airport in Denmark! And the only testpilot we have in Denmark is flying The Silver Spitfire at Airshows both here and abroad. Cheers: Kent

Time to revive this build. I can't belive it's been three years allready! The build was put on hold, because I received an invitation to visit the 'Fighter Wing Skrydstrup' maintenance/workshop. I needed to go have a look-see inside the engine bay as well as some of the details of the RDAF F-16. Preferably a F-16 B. In March 2020 I went to an event with one of Denmarks most experienced Pilots, Casper Børge Nielsen 'PEL'. He gave a very inspiring talk about his job in the air force and how he became a test pilot. But most importantly, he was stationed from 2008 to 2017 at Edwards Air Force Base in California. He was part of the development of the F-35. Part of the JSF (Joint Strike Fighter) Test Support Program. He was stationed there with his loyal 'companion' F-16B ET-210. Some of you may have noticed I need to have a 'subject' in the back of my head to keep my motivation through a build. And there it was, when met 'PEL' and later talked to him, I was sure. I got my story, my Pilot and my plane Let me see this was back in March 2020. Then came Covid, 2 years + my own hospitalization and convalescence period 1 year... Sounds about right But today I finally got to visit the home the danish Fighter aircraft - And what aircraft do you think was in the workshop today??? What a coincidence, just yesterday they had removed the engine? So I finally got my detailed photos of the engine bay and so much more! But not just of any F-16 it was PEL's 'ET-210'!! The 'sharp' reader may have noticed that the ET-210 had lost it's most distinguishing feature... This is because 'PEL' is one of the major forces behind the new 'F-35 Campus' a new center just for the F-35 fighter, an d will be finished by the end 2023. When I met him three years ago, he told me that 'he would like to bring the tail with him to his new office' Today I was told, the tail would be placed in a special spot in the building,cast securely in the concrete! They want to make sure it stays!! The danish F-16's will slowly be phased out. It's expected that the transition to the F-35 will be completed in 2027. I can only give this day a big 'thumbs up' - it was magnificent in every way and absolutely worth the three-year wait!! Cheers: Kent

They are getting and better. It is somewhat different building a resin kit, I love it whereas others hate it. The main reason for me are the subjects not the material. And Lukasz has been doing some of my 'most wanted kits'. And I'm crazy about seaplanes and floatplanes, so there's that... Cheers:kent
