  1. 'Just for fun' , You must have alot of time on your hands! Really cool model!
  2. Final update before new year now, change in personal plans so got a bit of spare time tonight and I'm pleased to say that the fuselage is now together! Although this is going to be far from a walk in the park but this is one reason I've done this build. This will pick up errors and be a massive learning curve too compared to the Hudson (which is like a Tamiya kit compared to this!). As you'll see from photos, the fit isn't great in some parts, but again will be good practise. Overall though, I'm chuffed with the fit, bar a few small problems. The joins however feel really strong so I'm happy with that, the tabs and keels have done their job well! Also, the eagle eyed modellers will see I haven't made room for a wing spar, this is because I'm going to go about it a different way. I plan on joining the wings together on the spar then slot it in from the top in a area which will be cut open for it to slide down into and lastly, the cockpit is also being cut off having the cockpit made then put back in. (Probably creating more work for myself, but it'll be fun right?) (Photos have been taken with a 100mm Macro lens so the bad areas are looking alot worse than they actually are.) 3. I feel the same too, I got at least 6 on the go. But most have had to be packed away as I moved house. Great work on the Hunter though, will look smart when done
  4. I assume 'BMF Chrome' is a tape? Never used it before but you've done a good job, you wouldn't know
  5. So I'm not alone on that Looks great Tom as per BM comment.
  6. 2 Beaufighters here - http://www.kingkit.co.uk/product_detail.php?prodID=11001
  7. Not even thought any more of the engine yet, just sorting out the fuselage at the moment. Tom Probert does have a spare set that he's going to lend me after xmas. So will see from there Thanks for the offer though!!
  8. Won't be until after new year now, everything's been packed away. Quite a big update to come though Thanks for following, and hope you all a happy new year!
  9. Been holding a hair dryer on the front end while it's held in shape then dipping it into cold water to try solve the front and it's working nicely, so the fuselage can now go together before the nose is chopped off Doubt I will get an update now until after new year (I may do tomorrow) as I'm heading south for a bit. Happy Christmas & Happy new year to all! Radleigh.
  10. Will try masking off the cheatlines etc but will probably speak to someone for custom masks regarding the reg, It's basic Aeroflot colours so I could get 1/144th decals up-scaled. Will see when the time comes
  11. Fuselage is nearly together, just got to play with the nose as it's being a bugger. When the two halfs go together, one half of the nose is really warped still, so I've got to address this. I was going to cut the nose off once the fuselage was together but I think it's going to come off before! Update soon
  12. Thanks guys Work was dead today, so got a bit done. Was sanding all day the Milliput shapes on the rear... Some photos for you all. How they finished up. MB9T3286 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr MB9T3287 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr how they look fitted, from what I can see, when they are glued on little filler work will be needed to flush them in MB9T3288 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr and some shaping on the front end, MB9T3289 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr More soon
  13. Quite an intense conversion, but I can't help think making a full kit would of been better? Your 80% there?? Either way I think I'll be getting one!
  14. http://www.dailymail...-aeroplane.html Wouldn't mind seeing that thing fly! Will have to get to a LSP show next year..
  15. Thanks Shawn, You should do too, this is my third and the other two are still WIP's! Locheed Hudson can be seen in the WIP on here (link in signature) and my Seawolf is on Britmodeller somewhere.. Need to update that as it's about 70% done.
  16. thanks guys! Bit more then off to bed, only two days left of work so I'm up a bit later than usual! Milliputted the areas that will need work, shall wait 24hrs before I start sanding, cutting etc... I love how you can wet your finger and rub into shape with Milliput, genius!! Had to dab with some tissue though to get rid of the excess hence 'fluff' on milliput in pics. MB9T3280 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr MB9T3282 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr
  17. Little bit more lads, I've added the starboard undercarriage section, (although none of the panel lines align) not that it matters as the whole aircraft will be smooth before I touch it with a scriber. MB9T3277 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr Also cut a slot, ready to extend the sponsers (like the A-50), which will.. MB9T3279 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr house this, ready to build up around with milliput and sand to shape. Having never used milliput before I had to redo the inserts for the undercarriage as one of them hadn't set properly, my own fault for mixing it in a room not well lit! This has delayed fitting the other keel, but will do that tomorrow now. MB9T3278 by Rainbow 1984, on Flickr
  18. This is the one I want, just not yet!
  19. I wouldn't go that far, at least we have it as a IM kit now!
  20. Nice video Lee, Regarding the wheel bays, I've cut them out along the kit lines, but looking at more photos now realise they are to high, luckily the Milliput is still OK to be drilled up into when I cut out the door again. Note for next time, check, check then cut! If I was to leave this I think it wouldn't lok right at all.
  21. I was thinking that but can't find anything! *keeps looking*
  22. Funny you say about a real one, Anyone know anything about this little beaut G-TEMT
  23. Much better mate, I was at Hendon the other week staring at the one there. Although I think I'd do it in Indian Air Force!
  24. To me, I think the Revell kit looks good but could do with the ZM cockpit transparencies and the nose reworked. Really want one after xmas, Wings Palette has got a scheme on there that I love!
