  1. Hi chaps, just a few pics i took at the weekend at a local airshow. As you may know this is Vulcan XH558's final flying year, so i was determined to see her one last time. Farewell! It was a bit emotional really, i have fond memories of seeing her as a kid, and she is such an awe inspiring (and sounding) spectacle that it's easy to forget she is just a big bunch of metal. It's like she is a living breathing thing.. I also had the pleasure of seeing a Blenheim for the first time - A beautiful aircraft. Anyway, thought i would share. Hope you like them, Nick
  2. Thanks guys. Juggernut, i think you may be on to something... I caught myself fondling Tiger plastic last night. I was going to go all out and add some aftermarket bits and pieces, but there Dragon seem to have done such a good job that there isn't any.. So the build will start soon.. Thanks again, Nick
  3. Thanks mate! I also have a Tiger (Dragon late 1 with Zimmerite) peeking at me from the stash, don't think i'll be able to resist much longer! Nick
  4. Hi chaps, i've been away for a while but i have been busy, although not with an large planes.. Here is my Eduard M4a1 Sherman. It was a lovely kit to build, although i didn't use all of the photoetch. I think i'll be building a lot more armour, it was good fun. It's also my first attempt at a diorama base, which was also fun! [/url] DSC_8768_zpsesa0hjqv by nick elwell, on Flickr Thanks for looking, feedback is welcomed - I want to get better! Nick
  5. This is a masterclass in how to build the big Tiffie - Outstanding, and that dot filtering is very very good. Nick
  6. Awesome work Mal, that carrier deck is something else! Stunning work. NIck
  7. Very nice! I keep resisting the urge to add one of these to my collection, no idea why - They look beautiful! Nick
  8. I have the Ikea Detolf, good value for money and you can add extra shelves if you wish. Nick
  9. I'll be there too. Didnt think i would have the car that weeked (the wife is taking the kids and her mum away for the weekend), but i'm being left home alone, with the car. So i'll be making the 3 hour trek there from Worcestershire. I could go to Fairford (which is only an hour away) but Duxford is shouting me the loudest! NIck
  10. Thanks for that link Bill, hard to believe they werent taken yesterday on a super duper DSLR! Nick
  11. Just thought i would add to the thread, my rather rusty latest aquisition - An mk103 cannon ammo link. Or at least thats what i've narrowed it down to. I need to do further research but i believe FW190's used these guns, i wonder if this one was used in anger? All i know is it was dug up in Germany quite recently.. Nick
  12. Stunningly beautiful build, you have my utmost admiration - Wow! Nick
  13. Looks great! Kinda relevent to the thread, i managed to acquire an ammo link for the mk108 cannon yesterday. Its fairly corroded, but still a cool thing to display in the cabinet i reckon. Nick

  15. Nice work, if mine comes out half as good as yours i will be a happy man. I have unfortunatly hit some snags with mine - I am finding the undercarriage parts to be very fiddly, and i'm hoping that it will all come together well enough in the end. An enjoyable build, but certainly not as 'easy' as the Tamiya P51 i did a couple of years ago.. NIck
  16. Depending on where you guys stayed, hypothetically speaking of course (for now anyway...) there are plenty of other places you could add to your visit list. I for one would be more than happy to show you around, and i'm sure i wouldnt be alone. Nick
  17. Sounds great, and it would be a chance to meet you guys from over the pond - Sort it out guys! As for this year, i would love to go, but the wife is away that weekend and taking the car. I dont fancy public transport, so i guess i'll be going next year. Nick
  18. Just an update... I managed to bag a Revell Arado for the bargain price of £16, so i'm now looking to buy HPH's Catapult. Its not too expensive, and hopefully with a bit of care i can create a nice looking diorama. It wont get built for a while yet anyway, so my skills should have improved by the time i build. Have messeged HPH directly to buy one, but as yet recieved no reply.... Nick
  19. Thanks for the encouragement guys, it means a lot. Unfortunatly life has got in the way of my build time just lately, but hopefully soon i will have an update. Nick
  20. Looking forward to following along Kev! Nick
  21. I'm in, and looking forward to following along - Always a pleasure to watch a Tamiya Spifire come together. Nick
  22. And its well worth a bit of your time. I would love to build to this standard one day, as it is struggle oob! Nick
  23. Lovely build, you don't see too many P40's built - Don't know why. to me they look very purposeful. Might have to add one to the stash i think.. Nick
