  1. These look really good, as do the others in their line of ejection seats. A bit pricey, but I ordered a set as a Christmas gift to myself! After they arrive, I’ll post an informal review and comparison.
  2. Superb work Marcel: accurate, detailed and realistic all the way through. Rich
  3. Beauty! I enjoyed watching this one come together. Great job Marcel. Rich
  4. Attention to detail…superb Level of precision….fabulous Craftsmanship………superior Overall impression: Fantabulous!
  5. Excellent summary Thierry. Regarding rows of rivets on the last section of the vari-ramps, they actually exist on the real deal. However they are flush to the surface and barely visible, even up close.
  6. Here is build article from the LSP Website that illustrates a relatively simple solution…click here
  7. You can read about this very involved build here (navigate to Models - 1/32).
  8. Marcel, It’s the standard Aero-1D 300 gal tank with a tail cone devoid of fin mounting and access slots, like this one: Easy to represent as the Trumpeter tanks do not depict the tail cone slots.
  9. Looking great Dave. I love the 3D printed parts! Rich
  10. A good choice. Additionally, Tamiya now market a retarder type lacquer thinner.
  11. Mine were distorted too. However a 15 second long bath in boiling water restored their shape.
  12. Good catch on the NLG doors…it certainly does make a difference. How did the landing gear go together? Any fit issues with all the plastic and metal parts? Rich
  13. Hi Lee, The basic nose structure of the Recce Phantom was not altered. Only the two ventral camera bay doors were modified for the “rounded” variant. So a DIY approach using Revell’s plastic parts as a starting point is feasible, especially given your modeling skills. Besides saving a lot of money, you gain the hollow, “see through” feature of the real RF-4. Rich
  14. Great looking project Dave. I love it!
  15. Awesome video! Note that the LE/TE flaps are not extended until just prior to takeoff, perhaps to avoid a bleed air over-temp. Also interesting to see the roll spoilers partially deflected during departure, to correct for crosswind or gust conditions I presume (the ailerons only deployed 1 degree up on Phantoms…any additional “down wing” force was provided by the spoilers).
  16. This sums it up well. We are blessed with two great offerings of the the Lanc in 1/32 scale: the forthcoming (and pricy) uber kit from Border, as well as an existing, very respectable alternative from HK that is more affordable. Going back only a decade, who would have thought? Grateful for these choices, Rich
  17. Looks great Mark…thanks for sharing your work with us! Rich
  18. Hi Chuck, Great to see that you’re back at the bench. A general paint compatibility question for you… On a number of your past builds, you have used Tamiya Panel Line washes over the bare exterior surfaces of you models in order to highlight details and help identify any errors. As these accent colors are enamels, have you ever experienced any problems applying acrylic lacquer paint, such as MRP or Mr. Color, atop them? Any adverse reactions? Thanks and regards, Rich
  19. And out of curiosity, who are Border Models? Never heard of them.
