  1. Sea Fury, P-38F, Tempest, Hawker Typhoon, P-47N, Val, P-51B, Hurricane I realize all these kits are covered in way or the other except for the Val but I would like to se Tamiya's spin on these. Oh yea and keep them reasonably priced 😂
  2. I think I scored on Ebay for this kit which has had the cockpit started and the fuselage halves glued together very sloppy and poorly and cannot be salvaged. After doing a quick inventory to see what parts I needed to replace besides the entire cockpit and the two fuselage halves I also check to see how many sprues came with the kit and I'm not entirely sure that all the sprues are there but I cannot confirm this with out a sprues part layout which I do not have. Can someone point me in the right direction in how I can I obtain the parts sprue layout for the Mk.IXc so I can check this against what L actually have on hand. The kit looks complete with just the quick survey but I need to be sure. Thanks Reuben P.S. I only payed $20 for the kit so I'm still ahead of the game for now.
  3. Thanks guys for all your help and suggestions it is really appreciated and taken to heart. I'm not really fond of this variant but for some reason I just want to build it. I like the unusual like different paint schemes, unusually nose art its a variant that i have never personally seen on the contest table? I guess this is the draw. But it's still a spitfire and she still looks beautiful and eleagant! Reuben
  4. Ive been looking into building a high altitude spitfire with the long pointed wings. I am either going to purchase the old Hasegawa kit and re-scribe the entire kit or would it be easier for me to start with a good basic kit such as the Hobbyboss offerings (Mk. Vb) and adding what is needed such as the wing tips saving me the re-scrbing time and devoting that time saved into other aspects of the model? Also any suggesting regarding after-market sets such as resin cockpit, wheels, PE, decals etc...that will help in this process. Any suggestions and help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Reuben
  5. For me as for many here is the mere size and demanding presence this scale demands. It's the perfect size for super detailing or just to build OTB. I use I build in 48th. because it was cheaper and there was more of a variety to choose from. But over the last 12+ years this scale has just exploded to our benefit but the cost also exploded but that's the price we pay in this scale and in most cases the price it's justified because of the level of detail orzo that's what I tell my wife!
  6. Just saw this article and what can I say except WOW!!!! Killer paint job and excellent choice for the camo. Never seen a 262 in this scheme. Very unusual camo and this really stands out. Very inspiring work to say the least Reuben
  7. Gathering materials for a build sometime in the near future. Looking to build Johannes "Hannes" Trautloft Bf.109F mount in either single or double chevron makings. Does anyone know of markings for his specific aircraft. Really like the eastern front aircraft more spicifically of The Green Hearts group very colorful for 109's in my opinion. Thanks for any information Reuben
  8. Cool color picture. That's it gonna have to build this bird now. Any one have this sheet from Eagle Cal they want to sell :-) Or at least this one particular plane?
  9. That's it that's the war time picture I found thanks guys for taking the time!
  10. Hey Chris thanks for taking the time to find the bird I was looking at. The second plane is what I was looking for. There's something about the OD/NG and the blue with the invasion stripes that really catches my attention and to my eye it really stands out above the standard OD/NG camo. I actually found war time photos of the original plane and according to the article this was the only plane marked this way in the FG. Now for the decals or paint masks?
  11. While searching for my first/next build since my return to this hobby I came across an image of a blue nosed, shark mouth, invasion striped P-51B that caught my attention. According to the information I could find this bird flew with the 352th. FG coded HO*Y (Y on the tail) serial number 43-6506. Sorry I couldn't post an image I tried, my question is, is there a set of decals or mask for this colorful bird? Has there ever been a set for this particular plane? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Reuben
  12. Or this P-47D Razorback https://www.google.com/search?q=p47+the+bug&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&client=safari#imgrc=z7uay-twRqL5oM%3A These have been done in 48th. but never in 32nd. to my knowledge.
  13. How about the following P-47D Bubble Top https://www.google.com/search?q=p47+honeybucket+joe&client=safari&hl=en&prmd=isvn&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwiFq_3ZibTKAhVC5SYKHWqPAZsQ_AUICCgB#imgrc=gKZM-NeFptS8DM%3A
  14. GREAT! Can't wait for the new decal sheet on this bird. As far as I can find theres really isnt much in the way of decals or masks for this variant of the P-40. Thanks for the replies and information.
  15. Does anyone make decals or a mask set for JINX w/the middle finger extended and of course in 32nd. scale?
  16. You are correct sir about the 56th. Been awhile since I studied about FG's. I need to start brushing up on my history.
  17. Figured grey/grey would never be factory applied. But in war time they used what ever was on hand correct? Still it would have been a very distinct camo look at the 78th. FG with their blues, blacks, purple planes.
  18. Thanks for the info, hopefully somebody will come out with a set of decals for this aircraft. Seen it in 72nd. scale. Do you any differences between the E model and the K as far as the cockpit is concerned? Externally I know about the tail and I know about the larger engine. What I'm wondering could I use a E cockpit in Place of the kit supplied one? I've read that the kit one is pretty could and maybe it's not worth the trouble?
  19. While I was doing research for any aftermarket products for a Hasegawa P-40K build I ran across an image of a plane named JINX with the middle finger being extended that flew out of the CBI theatre. What I liked most about it was the camo scheme. It has been discussed here on LSP it was dark grey over grey, heavily weathered OD over grey, blueish grey over grey I've even seen another modelers interpretation that look likes intermediate blue over grey, very cool IMHO. Either way its different and I like it so I was wondering does anybody here know of any decals or a mask set for this bird? Also any aftermarket cockpit set for this same kit? Thank Reuben Back in the saddle again!
  20. Been thinking about this HB Spitfire and getting one but now I see your beutiful build with its awesome paint scheme now I have to build one in this camo too. Great build thread keep up the great work, very inspiring! Reuben
  21. What a shame for us model builders I just decided to step into the WWI side of building because of the new challenges of it and the colorful paint schemes of the German planes and I had this one on the list to buy. Good for the mfr. since all I have read about these kits are superb reviews, keep them coming WNW!! Question, Are the Wingnuts Wing kits a limited run production? Just wondering because if they are them I have to get off the pot and start buying up those subject matters that intrest me the most. Reuben
  22. Thanks guys for taking the time to reply to my inquiry and the information provided, this really helped. Reuben
  23. Been wanting to buy/build a Trumpeter SBD kit for some time now but I just want to know what are the differences between the kits? Don't know what's about the -5 model but to my eye it just looks to be more appealing, plus I just got back from The Lone Star Flight Museum down in Galveston, TX and the had one on display and WOW! They did a beautiful restoration. It seems that very rarely anybody puts one up for sale. It seems to me that they always want to sell Trumpeters other SBD kits, is there a reason for this or am I just imagining things? Any help would be grateful. Thanks, Reuben San Antonio, TX
