Cool! Good luck to you!

Good news, new post on FB says Harv is awake and improving enough to be talking on the phone!!
-
FYI - Heard from Ernie on LSM and Bev on FB that Harv has had a setback. He had gall bladder surgery yesterday, which went fine, but then something went wrong afterward and he coded. They got him back but he had a seizure and is now in a coma as of the last info. Tim

Skyway Model Shop in Renton, just south of Seattle, is my favorite. Lots of old and new stuff, but his prices can be a tad high. It's the only non-chain store I'm aware of in the area. There is also a HobbyTown in Tukwila, not far from Skyway. HT is not my fave, but the last time I was there a couple years ago, they did have a decent stock and lots of supplies. Those are the only ones I'm aware of, and that I've been to. As long as your in the area, I would highly recommend going here: https://flyingheritage.org/. The collection is awesome! Most of it started out as Doug Champlin's collection, then Paul Allen bought it and started FHC. After Allen died a few years ago, it was bought by one of the Walton family (Walmart), and finally re-opened last year. I would quite seriously prefer to visit here than any hobby shop anywhere. I still haven't seen the Mosquito, the Churchill tank, or the Stuka that's half built. Tim

Estate sale in Carthage, MO with a lot of LSPs
BiggTim replied to ChuckD's topic in General Discussion
Indeed. I wish I were close enough to attend. -
While I was checking out the HLJ site, I see that a company called "Freedom Models" has a BMW motorbike and a Kettenkrad in 1:16 as well. Another company I have never heard of, but I am sorely tempted by both, as the prices seem pretty reasonable to me. T

So has Andy said if he plans do release the M4A1 at some point? I'd drop 150 on a kit from him, but I'm struggling to spend well over 200 for the I Love Kit.
-
I had no idea. And what a dumbass name.
-
Are you #$^^$#@#@ me? In 1:16? Edit: I just looked it up, and you are not #$%^&$#@ me. But "I Love Kit"? I know nothing about them, and they want 218 USD!!! Yikes! I bet Andy would charge about 150 for one if he did it.

M4A1, or M-51 for me. Curved bodies are always better...
-
You bet, Steve. I will post it here. I am in the middle of another very time consuming project at the moment, then I will be able to get back to it, as well as some other ideas. sucks having to work it around my regular job! I need to retire so I can just do this all the time, but that would require taking a significant pay cut!! The original conversion that blackbetty, Harold, and Pinsolle did was excellent, and I do have all of those parts exactly as they made them, with the exception of the vac-formed canopy. I can do that, too, I just haven't yet. The remaster that I'm working on builds heavily on their great work, but incorporates the cowl and front end from Jumpei Temma's great 3D models, so that the swelled front end goes back past the wing roots. That's been complicated to do, as you might imagine, but I'm confident that it will work. Tim
-
Yes, I'm fact I've been working to remaster that conversion by combining the original work with some new 3D files by Jumpei Temma. It's been slow going, as I have had little free time to devote it to it. But, it's promising, and I'm confident it will work out. I just can't say for sure when I'll get it done. Tim

Is Swann-Morton chisel set worth investment
BiggTim replied to Brock's topic in Construction & Scratch-building
I would say absolutely strong enough. In fact, I may try them myself. -
Found it - https://www.kitlinx.com/cgi/display.cgi?item_num=LSC32469Z Wow! Makes me want to try it.
-
Has anyone ever built a 1/32 one of those?
-
I sent you a PM, Cliff. I might be able to help you. I printed a bunch of the Fancherello F7F pits for people.

P-51B Capt. Burton N. Rodier Jr. 26FS/51FG
BiggTim replied to Miloslav1956's topic in Ready for Inspection
Wow! Really exceptional, as usual! I'd love to see what you could do with a Rutman P-51B kit. Tim -
I have not seen it in person, but I think the one you are referring to was mastered by Loic Bridot, who is a member here. I think he is known as Loic here, but someone please correct me if I am mistaken. At any rate, he could probably tell you what that kit entailed. Finding one is another story.

So are you saying you'd like a shirt that is just an LSP only shirt? That would have to be a separate design and a separate order. I'm not opposed to the idea, but it might have to wait until after the Nats order is complete, just because that might be too much to handle at once for me. @ Ray - something like this? (I'm not sure about the individual name, either - it would probably cost a lot)
