Yes, exhaust stains go all the way back in the fuselage in planes that saw lot's of action. Undesides were also oily as heck, check these pics of black six and imagine how it would look after 50-100 flying hours without cleaning:

Every flying 109 had exhaust stain on wings, visible in pictures or not. Sometimes b&w pictures and usual gray/gray paintschemes could mask it quite well but they're there.

Not rare in late war 109's, vast majority of Erla canopies were painted with RLM 66 both inside and outside.

+1 All warbirds got souls in my opinion, even they are not 109's but Buchons. But still great old planes.

Hi all, I'm going to build Revell Junkers Ju-88 A-4 soon, and the example i will build had MG-FF/M in the nose. AFAIK Revell kit doesen't include this cannon (i don't have the kit yet in my hands), so does anyone know where i could find one? So far i've only found barrels for sale but not whole cannon.

Here you go: Probably possible to correct with some sanding & polishing but i found it easier to just replace the whole canopy with Squadron one.

I think it's also worth of noting that you need replacement canopy for K4 as they did another mistake on windshield part of canopy. Bottom corner is done wrong and canopy part is not that good either, i used Squadron canopy on mine.

Yep, it looks ok but it does have exactly same wrong shape as G6 kit, and for G10 it's also wrong, early type erla-canopy. I know this is minor issue for most of the people but i'm not probably going to buy it until there will be some aftermarket canopies available. At least no more than one kit Shame really as Erla G10 is my favourite 109...

I have GMF D13 conversion kit under works right now. Good quality parts, only minor use of putty and sanding was needed. Actually it's first conversion i've ever done...

Most of the drawings i've seen shows them bulged so i guess hasegawa ones are correct. From my understanding early K's= without covers while late ones had them fitted.

Hi mattlow Exactly. What grid do you use for sanding and how you will polish it? I may test it myself too. Hasegawa canopy will not fit straight because Revell use early style canopy (like in second photo in my post) so there would be gap in the back. Rb productions photo etch canopy won't go for same reason.
