  5. Hello, Just a small update. I've put on the upper cowl, despite trying to get the best fit possible I had an annoying seam, This was pretty much the same on both sides, I think I'm correct in saying that no panel line existed at this point so I wanted to get a good smooth finish. Using a thin sliver of plastic card I filled the seam on both sides running 'Mr hobby s' along it to get a really nice 'weld'. After masking the adjacent areas for protection I sanded until all was smooth. I wanted to add a bit of an extra something to the inside of the front canopy so I've added some basic structure with plastic card and also done some grab handles with stretched sprue, I normally model 1/48 where spraying RLM66 first on the outside of the frame would suffice, I didn't think that would look to good in this scale so I got some montex masks meaning I could spray the inside of the canopy, also added some cockpit lights ( I think thats what they are)? I originally attached the MDC lights to the cockpit sides but quickly managed to lose one to the carpet monster so after much mucking about settled on attaching some home made ones to the canopy frame. This is the general idea ( bad photo I'm afraid), Thanks for looking, Cheers...
  6. Thanks Steve that's great, thanks for letting me pick your brains. Slow progress is being made.... Cheers...
  7. Wow Steve what a brilliant answer! Many thanks, very much appreciated. Sorry to be cheeky but do you know if it would have had the earlier Revi c or the later Revi b Gunsight? I was going to go with the MDC 'b' but the kit has the 'c' which I think was fitted to some earlier G6's. Cheers...
  8. Mike, Frank and Raf thanks for looking and the compliments. Was a shame to close all the painted detail up, next time I'll be bolder with the light and shade so it 'pops' a bit more. Cheers...
  9. Thanks Mark, I'm sure I can make out enough to make a decision. Finally got some pictures to post. This is my first go at using a resin cockpit and I was to tentative with thinning the fuselage and the resin side walls so it was a squeeze getting it in, at least I've learnt something for next time. Painted up, RB productions seat belts, These were great to put together, I used gator glue. I removed the rudder and reworked the front, not sure how I'm going to attach it yet I've also filled the two hatches on the fuselage as per the destructions and done a few other little bits.. Cheers everyone, please comment awayyyyy....
  10. Look forward to seeing it come together Cheers...
  11. Hi everyone, I was hoping someone may be able to help with a little info. I'm doing this aircraft Anton Hackl’s Stab./JG11 G-6/R6 Does anyone know if this aircraft would have had the Gun trough inserts or the pressed inserts? The kit comes with both and I'd like to get it correct if possible. Many thanks,
  12. What markings will you be painting Frank? Cheers...
  13. Splendid work on the office Frank, the detail looks great. That engine is beautifully painted Cheers...
  14. Nick, Mark and Misha71 thanks for the kind comments. Nick I got that sheet intending to do Hannes Trautloft's aircraft but I've quickly come unstuck on the old style wheels required so I think I'm probably going to do Anton Hackl’s JG11 G-6/R6, I'm sure I'll build another in the future anyway. Cheers...
  15. Brewer, LSP_Ron and Frank thanks for looking and commenting, I've made a little more progress and will get some pictures up in the next few days. Cheers...
  16. Beautiful paintwork and finishing Ralph, love the way you build the effect slowly. Cheers...
  17. Completely gorgeous, makes me wanna buy one Cheers...
  18. You've done a splendid job. I really like it Cheers...
  19. Guys, Thanks for the warm welcome and kind comments, glad you like it so far. Cheers, Mike.
  20. Hi everyone. I've been lurking awhile and admiring some outstanding work. As I've recently started my first 1/32 build since I started modeling again a couple of years ago I thought I'd post a few progress shots. I'm using various after market bits on this build, this is the MDC resin cockpit although I've used the kit IP with the MDC decals. I've got some RB productions belts on order and I plan on getting a few other bits along the way. Decals will be from EagleCals #40. Paints are Gunze Aqueous and Vallejo. Please feel free to comment, I'll post progress as I go along. Cheers, Mike.
