PhilM got a reaction from RonGUSA in HK Lanc review
If we weren't - all - modelling nerds, this site wouldn't exist: neither would after-market decals ...
If video reviews give him the creeps, why did he watch it? Surely not just to be able to make an offensive post about it?
I found the review helpful, and appreciate you doing it.

If it is - as you imply - repeated behaviour, why should we have to ignore it?

PhilM reacted to Nigels modelling bench in HK Lanc review
I would like to see this guys post removed please. I find it offensive to be told I am describing an aircraft component incorrectly, incorrectly pronounced by an Englishman describing a British Aircraft component?? and to be called a "model Nerd" is not appropriate for someone who has been modelling for 49 years and has been a member on this site for many years.

And your point is??
What did I mis-pronounce? As for being called a model Nerd.. what exactly do you mean?? Please define a model Nerd?

I am officially excited, this is looking yummy. Not worried at not seeing any stressed skin effect, I just have to look at my face in the mirror to get plenty of that...

PhilM reacted to Troy Molitor in HKM DO-335 B-6 Night Fighter. Release Next Week
Man, It's one awesome kit after another being released.
Where the heck were all these awesome new companies back in the 70-80 and 90's? I was working a paper routes, shoveling endless sidewalks, mowing yards, painting houses and caddying to buy these kits.
And now you see kids staring at their smart phones with expressionless faces.
Let's get on with crazy gluing our fingers together and building these monster kits!

PhilM reacted to Lancman in HK Lancaster.
There was a "shot" let's call it that Cees has now and is converting it into a Manchester and that's what I was basing my concerns on. I hope the new kit is ok but look how the rivet counters picked apart the B-17, but for 1 here I am more than happy with what will be produced after attempting the only other 32nd Lanc that was a vacform :fight: and it fought all the way .

As an indication, we'll have a test shot at the Shizuoka show in May. The kit is still being tooled. The instructions need to be done, and so do the decals. I imagine the boxes still need to be printed and manufactured. If I was to give a semi-educated guess, I would say release would be late Q2 to early Q3.

PhilM reacted to Bill Cross in Tamiya's next 1:32 release will be....(your bet goes here)
We shouldn't end the thread because it has something for everyone:
Serious discussion about the Tamiya R&D process Evaluations of what aircraft have and have not been released in Thirty-Two Scale Silliness to keep us all amused Cranky members who want to shut the thing down (we can laugh at them for being so bloody-minded, right?) Mods who for once don't have to separate the combatants and police the populace I say keep it going. I don't have to read it if I am no longer amused.

PhilM got a reaction from mpk in Revel and Hasegawa Fw 190F-8 kits - a comparison
Yep, 38.0.1 (on a Mac) works for me too, so don't think it is Firefox per se? (But, for the file / document size, it is quite a slow download ...)

PhilM got a reaction from mpk in Revel and Hasegawa Fw 190F-8 kits - a comparison
Thanks for all of this info and the comparisons ... I think you have got yourself a job for any and all future competing kit releases
Don't know if it's just me and my eyesight, but do these latest pics of the "shrouds" show two slightly different versions of them?
The second pic seems to show a "deeper" version (more like the kit interpretation, though of course not as thick?), set away slightly from the circular wheel well edge (and thus showing a gap of wing undersurface?)
The first pic seems a shallower set, at / on the wheel well edge, and the fixing extended around the front edge of the wheel well?
If so, perhaps not surprising if they were added retrospectively (?) from "kits" perhaps made in different places?

Thanks. Duly preordered for approx £111. KOTY for me, unless Tanmodel's Su-33 comes out before year's end.
