dilute it with alcohol and or simple green it will brush better if you have acrylic paints do not dilute to much
-
yes wait for them to dry, and are the decals said to be good for the hasagwa or trump in any event you can use some of the extra decal if they provide it or a generic black or white to cover it. Baracuda is a good company and i am sure the decals are very good

if any one has a trashed trump me 262 and does not want the direction loop antenna I will gratefully accept it

since thanksgiving made a lot of progress with weathering and painting. except fot eh yellow painted nose cone the model is painted. i managed to launch the direction finding antenna into my model room not to be found yet. I used some sculpy modeling clay to reproduce it as we know trumpeter does not sell parts. It look reasonabe when it is painted will show you guys. Next step is decaling the limited decals which can't easily be masked like the wing walks, squadron emblem as well as the various warning signs in german. I have some EZ line coming in for the radio antenna here are some pictures

Decaling over tamiya AS 12 bare metal silver (can)
dashotgun replied to Rob Colvin's topic in Decals & Masks
was not impressed with the video you could still see the edge of the decal and it will silver in some light. I hate using a top coat of future and have gone to selectively airbrushing where the decal will be or brush it on for small decals. that being said over gloss or metallic I would not future coat as it destroys the metallic sheen -

beautiful reproduction and cratsmanship. One nit the ETO birds did not have a radio wire -
some final thoughts and comments close ups sure do show imperfections!, The serial number stencil on the starboard side was not weeded correctly ie removing the opening to the stencil will be fixed easily enough, The cameo although expensive does open a whole new world to modeling I have always hated the whole cover with future then decal then dull coat. Small decals alas will still be required though. The rear check did not some out perfectly otoh hand I doubt in IRL they were either will fix it up and chalk the rest to field painting. I used the art tool splatter masks they are great

my kids arrive tomorrow so got in a little work. repainted the one where it chipped. Copied and used the cameo to cut the circle decals on the engine nacelles. Cameoed the serial number. Will post pictures in abit.

i received my cameo and have the eagle strike decals to supplement the montex masks. I have already figured how to scan and copy the decals to be cut out . Since I already have the balken cruze and the id numbers I am going to try some of the larger decals like the red circles around the fuel tanks as well as the ID number. Family is coming for he hoiiday( we are all isolated and tested have to see the grandkiddos) so updates may be slow for a bit.

did the black surround over yellow one and lifted some of the paint a down side of painted markings. its okay part of the process I love stencils and just bought a cameo so as to not be limited to montex and others. also touched up the tail planes and repainted the front cockpit windshield and the yellow front cap

white based so the color bleeds through

no work today had to run around and do a million errands but I rewarded myself bu buying a cameo 4 and some oromask 810 may also get some artool ultra mask to compare it to

thanks guys thunnus I followed your build as well...

further progress remasked and touched up the starboard white check masked and painted the yellow one the black overlay will be masked and shot once the paint is dry. The front gear wheel door had the yellow three shot. Still to do reshoot the canopy with a darker rlm82. fix the bottom of the canopy where I sanded to much off. I have to design a retention strap for the antenna. reshoot the front yellow cap since it overlayed the panel line. yes the yellow three has some chips on it I will probably just dot it with yellow

yahu Ip montex masks and some cutting edge masks also barracuda tires, a variety of paints seat belts I forgot

this one is one got put on the back burner in fact it got started about 2 years ago. I thought retirement would free lots of time to model but has not worked out that way. Then I thought home most of the time due to covid and ditto did not work out that way. anyway I started working on it again. the trumpeter is not bad however I bet the new revel is better. getting the gun compartment closed up was a battle. the front canopy stands proud so I sanded the base a bit but now there is a gap sigh can be fixed with putty. I am using rlm 82 but I must have mixed a base coat and the straight from the bottle is now does not match sigh. It will be finished soon...
