I finished my F2G Corsair Racer from this build thread: http://forum.largescaleplanes.com/index.php?showtopic=35207&st=0&p=329656&fromsearch=1entry329656

Overall I am happy with the result. It has a few issues and small shape errors, but it looks like an F2G to me and I have never been much of a rivet counter. Not much more to say about it, as the build and trials and tribulations are pretty well covered in the build thread. I found it a difficult build and it took me a long time to finish...but that had as much to do with sporadic attention to it as anything else.

Toward the end of this project I was definitely feeling a bit of "model airplane burnout" setting in. I think my next build will be something that just falls together, like a Tamiya P-51. Or I might do an armor model.

    Thanks for looking!

That is incredible. Many of the details, such as the burner cans, are astoundingly good.

I really had to scrutinize the photos to tell whether it was a model or the real airplane. The only thing that ultimately gave it away, was a couple panel lines that were slightly thicker than you might see on the real airplane. Other than that, I could not even tell.

    Amazing work.

I do all my work on my workbench in the garage.  It is 115 degrees in there in the summer....about 45 in the winter....dust...spider webs....and if I have to use the workbench for something else (frequently) all the model stuff needs to be put away or somehow protected.

The basic challenge is trying to get a decent paint job in a basically very dusty environment.

Those were such awesome machines....the battleships.  I still am fascinated by warships but the modern ones seem so much less interesting.

I sure would like to see you press forward with this.

I keep wanting to plunge into one of the 1/200 scale kits....but they seem such an onerous task to complete...particularly with the aftermarket detail up kits.....that I am a bit intimidated.
