  1. So, for the third time, I missed the resupply Harold's 1/32 B-25 update set. I used the Sprue Brothers auto-notify feature each time. And, each time, I click the link in the email to purchase the set and it's sold out! Arrrrgggghhhhh! Are there a bunch of psychic's out there that bought the HK Models B-25J...? I can't believe that I missed it three times in a row - only by a couple of hours this last time... Just venting... I signed up for the auto-notify again - I hear they say that the fourth times a charm.
  2. Holy Moly... This is shocking and saddening. It's a really big loss to the modeling community and to everyone who knew Charles. I first met him here on LSP way back when, his depth of knowledge and wisdom was/is incredible. He was always the voice of reason here and on other forums. He will be sadly missed... Rest in Peace Charles. -randy
  3. I'd be in for a couple of sets - got a few in the stash.
  4. Hey, I saw that one up close and personal! Great build. Congratulations on your 1st place. I see your from Austin... Have you ever been to the ASMS meetings? Great bunch of guys and gals. PM me if you're interested. Cheers, -randy
  5. Harold, The gunsight and IP fairing arrived safe and sound this afternoon. Fantastic work! Cheers, -randy
  6. Jeroen, this is a great build as usual. Very nice masking on that canopy... did you make those masks? The interior masks are great.
  7. Where did you get the Pitz exhaust cans from? I want a set of those... Excellent work Brian! I was supposed to be working from home today... but, I ended up reading all 15 pages of the build thread. Holy Moly, that is an awesome job on that plane. Inspiration is but one of the words that came to mind... I'm also following the P-40 build as well - I'm considering jumping into the foiling fray. :-) -randy
  8. Oh my... I just read the posts. I've always had the utmost respect and admiration for Charlie - and a bit of "library envy" as well... My thoughts and prayers go out to Charles and his family. -randy
  9. Dave will be missed. He had a certain way to liven things up... and was always ready to help. Rest In Peace Dave, blue skies ahead... -randy
  10. I think that was me your thinking of... I've always been that way - much to the dismay of my parents and amusement (sometimes) of my wife... Seriously, that's my motto: "Squirrel!" It kind of explains a lot... So, Kev, where are we on this conversion? It's looking very cool...
  11. Happy Birthday Charles! Have a great day. -randy
  12. Hi Alan! I'd love a set as well. Thanks! -randy
  13. Thanks gents, good points to consider. Once I get the ultrasonic cleaner, I'll be sure to play around a bit... Sorry for hijakin' your thread Kev!
  14. Thanks Chris! Harbor Freight is perfect - there is one not too far from my house. I figured water would be fairly safe to use and i completely forgot about Simple Green. I was wondering about the lacquer thinner though... I'll give it a shot.
  15. Hi guys, I've been pondering getting an ultrasonic cleaner for a bit now... and I've been wondering what solvent(s) do all of you use to clean your airbrushes? I've got an HP-C+ and it's a phenomenal airbrush. However, I would like to run it through the ultrasonic cleaner every few months just to keep it squeaky clean... Thanks! -randy
  16. Well... now I'm not. Dammit, Ads! I'm fairly certain - he goes on about his Skyraider kit from the early '70s and how now he can bring dreams to life. And he leaves us with, "What's that, you already know its name?!! Yes, that's right. That's right. If it's just the name itself, that's easy. But you need to fill in all the blanks, and correctly complete the whole sentence, so I hope you'll give it your best shot from beginning to end." So, I think it is the Skyraider, but the version is left hanging... AD-1/-2/-3/-4/-5/-6/-7? Or, the myriad of subvariants associated with each version...? And of course markings... And the speculation is rather fun.
  17. Oooh, that would be a nice touch... VA-25 flying off of the Midway: http://midwaysailor.com/midwayva25bomb/
  18. Keith you're a funny guy... I've been working on that humor thing... my 8 year old is helping me along.
  19. I believe that the weekend versions of Eduard's kits are plastic only. They don't include the masks and PE of their Profipack cousins...
  20. So, I was perusing the Z-M website when I ran across this... http://www.zoukeimura.co.jp/en/sentiment/sws02_ta152_08.html#cont_area During the second half of the blog he reveals SWS#3... the Skyraider. Woo-hoo! -randy
  21. Yep, I'm still kicking around...haven't had much of a chance to get online lately. Let's see... a Spitfire... hmm, I seem to remember that one.
  22. Well, I guess I should grab 2 of them before they are all gone...
  23. Wow! That is some gorgeous work in those pics... Both of those Sea Furies were just "Holy Moly!" And there were some very nice Jugs too...! -randy
  24. Oh my... this is very sad news. Russ will certainly be missed. I only have time for lurking these days and I will certainly miss his great builds, entertaining posts, and great sense of humor . Words fail me now... Rest In Peace Russ! You are missed.
