  11. I am quoting the guy who did the research on the ZM verbatim here, so don't shoot the messenger - here's what he has to say: ''I am sorry to say this but just I discovered recently that ZM kit has inaccuracies at engines gondola too.Indeed I am working at Revell kit and as I am in love with He-219 I intend to made a most accurate UHU.Revel's kit gondolas are undersized in diameter, too squary and for this I started a intensive research including ZM kit too and such I discovered that they are too bulbous and the end tips too high.Compared with the sole existent Uhu at Uvarhazy, the angles of ZM are wrong. The overall dimensions of ZM kit is good,it is about angles and shapes.First of all,the engine gondola/fuselage longitudinal alignment. The engine gondolas are slightly tilted downward. It is clear, that the nacelle line and fuselage line are not aligned. In the below photo I marked the fuselage line with red,and the nacelle line with blue. From these pictures result you can see this non-parallel alignment. Zoukei Mura is correct at this point, Revell not, because of the overall wrong shape of their gondolas. Second point: Engine and wheel bay nacelles cross section - the gondolas begin and end as perfect circles. At this point, Zoukei Mura are correct, Revell's are too square. Revell's are undersized in diameter too. From the beginning of the nacelle until the end of the big square access hatch at the top of the nacelle the engine gondola has the same diameter, and at top bottom and lateral edges are a straight line. The straight line at the top of nacelle, marked with red. Note!!!: you will see this straight line only if your eyesight is at the same hight with the top of the nacelle. If you are lower or higher these lines will appear slightly curved because the nacelle from a circle section transiting to a squarish one. These are evident to all pictures of all preproduction or production series. Here is the mistake of all model UHU's and to many drawings too: From the end of the big square access panel, at the top of the nacelle the engine nacelle line changes angle down overall the nacelle. This angle is evident in all pictures too if you will watch in the right direction. From this point, marked with red arrow ,to the end of wheel bay gondola, the line of the engine nacelle is a very slight curve, almost a straight line, but from the end of wheel bay the curve accentuate, ending in the pointy nacelle characteristic to UHU. All UHU model manufacturers have omitted these lines, the lines are too curvy, and the nacelles appear too bulbous. ''
  12. Hi guys - resurrecting this thread because I have read some interesting info re: accuracy of the ZM kit over on Facebook. Someone has done some exhaustive work on the nacelles, and reached the conclusion that ZM were also inaccurate in their depiction of this area of the kit... what I am concerned with are specifically the scale plans - this is linked to my long-term publishing project. I will say that I have had the assistance of Ron Ferguson, the pre-eminent expert, but that unfortunately we parted ways. He claimed the plans are accurate, but did provide me with a list of errors - interestingly he didn't mention the nacelle shape. Perhaps someone else would like to comment on this inaccuracy, as well as any other inaccuracies in both the plans and the kit, as I assume both would have been produced in parallel? It'll be interesting to see if impartial observers point out the same inaccuracies that I am aware of. Thanks in advance for any help! Rich
