TTModelworks 1/32 AD-5 (A-1E) Skyraider
phasephantomphixer replied to thaipham101's topic in Vendors Board
Was going to mention the one at McClellan since you'd said you were in Calif. earlier. I will check old photos I took of it back when I was stationed there. Hope I have some of use. -
New 1:32 F-4 Phantom Family Coming in 2022
phasephantomphixer replied to spruebrothers's topic in LSP Discussion
Or copying an inaccurate kit, in the case of their A-10 having the same shape flaws as the 1/48 Tamiya kit. -
New 1:32 F-4 Phantom Family Coming in 2022
phasephantomphixer replied to spruebrothers's topic in LSP Discussion
I thought the Fujimi Brit kit was the go to for 1/72, but then I also thought it was Hasegawa for 1/48... Back to topic, guessing they would use the sales of all new F-4B in 1/32 to budget the tooling of other types. Seems the British Phantom would be the other large leap as far as amount of re-tool. If i'm anywhere close here I hope sales go exceptionally well. -
F-111. F-4G. Also can depend on where A/C was based, like with the F-4G Phantom. At George AFB or later, Nellis they had the ALQ-184, but if at Spang Germany ALQ-131.

FW-190D questions
phasephantomphixer replied to CRAZY IVAN5's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Been many years since I built my D-11 (before the latest Hasegawa kit) but do remember using the thinnest line I had, and to get the proper drape when slack, I put a twist in the short center wire so it would fall to the left (?) when canopy is slid back. -
Do you have, or have you seen the Resin2Detail seats?

HobbyBoss 1:32 Liberator GR Mk.VI - RAF Coastal Command
phasephantomphixer replied to Iain's topic in Works in Progress
Also wonder the cost in resin to print a wing, it isn't cheap and getting higher here in the States. With that, and the insane cost to ship large items, will it be possible to buy the print file? -
Very kind of you to allow us to be the first to see your new book "How to properly build the Revell 1/96 USS Constitution" Ernest! This is all the best guide for my builds - was admittedly a bit lost thinking about the builds, but now have WNW like instructions - Thanks!

That's # 1 bada** Blue Build Scott, real close match to your bench and paint bin! Are those the Yellowhammer decals? And i've found the FOD covers easily fit the intakes just like the real deal, so can really have both. This is definitely how I will go doing a Reno High Rollers Recce build since they did their covers up something sweet.

P-47D Thunderbolt 1/32 - Gabby Gabreski RFI
phasephantomphixer replied to DugyB's topic in Aces High
A real turnout under time deadline even! Hope you had a nice birthday, do you dare take pics of the RH side? -
Some real nice masting Ernest, brass should be a good choice there. The photos are better to keep down glare I think. Can see the details just fine. All of this is a real boost for the two I need to do (One the United States) plus Cutty. Thx

Ensign "Hammy" Grey's F4U-1D Corsair Technique Question
phasephantomphixer replied to Totalize's topic in LSP Discussion
Would go the safe route of main color blue enamel and gloss, then fastener heads acrylic silver with a moistened paper towel at the ready to wipe away excess. Benefit that you are doing a glossy warbird. The aft area of the cowl flaps either Alclad chrome, Molitow, or Bare metal foil. Any of those may be too chrome at first, but should tone down just right with the protective clear. -
P-40B at Pearl Harbor
phasephantomphixer replied to George's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
What may help you decide is PH one would've been very clean and new whereas the FT would be sun baked, weathered and worn. -
P-40B at Pearl Harbor
phasephantomphixer replied to George's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Great stuff guys - P-40's weren't top performers, but top in coolness! Always loved them. They just have the fighter look. The old Revell kit is what got me going in 1/32 really. -
Well I think the under bench stacks are limiting the carpet monsters trappings, plus if you hear the part go 'tink against a box... Been some small bit of therapy seeing others stash shots I admit! I've got it bad enuf that I have to condense multiples of same kit into one box for space saving. Man, if they released a P-51B/C i'd have to have a few. Big help if it were of Old Crow with Malcolm and paper tanks.

1/35 Kittyhawk Helicopters out again
phasephantomphixer replied to Dave Williams's topic in LSP Discussion
Guessing that also means no correcting the distorted inside surface of the clear parts that ALL of my KH kits have... -
I think you've settled on a good choice of subject for your -104. For those pesky Face curtain handle colors, suggest you just paint the yellow, then wrap both loops with black decal stripes. Most any decal sheet has them for demarcation. I'm waiting to see how the Reskit exhaust set fits... not finding any installation reviews when they have a bounty of products.

The Tomcat looks like a closer match to the E-2C for size. Anyway, Sure hoping they employ the A team on this one and that they leave the clear tinting to us! -
F-86 Sabre wartime cockpit color
phasephantomphixer replied to phasephantomphixer's topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
Ends up it will be checker tailed 39th FIS Suwon, tail #112951 Lt. Gen Glen Barcus "Barcus Carcuss" (spelled that way on A/C) so figure by the numbers it will be any color, as long as it's black. Even the headrest from color pic - Thanks! -
F-86 Sabre wartime cockpit color
phasephantomphixer posted a topic in Aviation Discussion & Research
None of the books I have show any area of the cockpit, just two pictures are of the inst. panel and fwd. console area which appear to be black. Kit instructions state dark gray. Will be a closed canopy build so any area that will be seen helps. One museum bird has black headrest, but most Korean war pics seem to be dark red. Thanks! -
AFIAK Bulged canopies had the shrouded or solid section aft of armor and headrest.
