  1. Undercarriage slotted in place. The legs were printed hollow - vertically, as well as horizontally for the wheel axle - and 1mm diameter brass rod bonded in place with cyanoacrylate glue. There's a section of the brass rod that sticks out at the top - this slides into holes drilled in the wing: Yay - it's worked! And the model sits nicely on them when flipped over. Need to draw up a tail-skid. Iain
  2. I promised to post some progress photos, so... 3D prints from the CAD models above - in basic paint - some detail work to be done, and some washes: The 'cowl' on the left has been made using the more 'traditional' route of hand carved master and vacuum-formed sheet. Old and new technologies in harmony... One thing I'm *really* chuffed with is that everything is so precise it all clips together perfectly - and stays together without any glue! Prop is a 3D STL scaled to size and printed - more detail paint to follow: Basic seat - all that's needed: And the wheels, tyres and undercarriage legs assembled: There's more - back shortly... Blue skies, Iain
  3. Appear to be on a bit of a Mojo roll with a number of projects just now - including the Andover. Final priming/sanding of fuselage interior pretty well done now - and progressing on to the paint colours - white, light blue and grey. And tail: Blue skies, Iain
  4. John, are you deliberately trying to stir things again? It's not a good look - and pretty petty/cheap IMHO. Iain
  5. The 'Like' button is wholly inadequate for this one Peter! Love the Pratts oil cans - and those wire wheels are just sublime... Iain
  6. Fabulous build - love the paint finish and weathering! Iain
  7. That looks fabulous Chris - especially the weathered finish! I have the 'B' boxing that's been staring at me... Iain

    Me-110?

There's the excellent series of Bf 110s produced by Dragon - and subsequently released under the Revell and Hobby 2000 brands: Scalemates listing Our review of the initial release. Hope that helps! Iain
  9. Good grief - please take a step back from the keyboard and read the room. You are not going to change how we moderate the forums here. And, actually, we’re just a little sick of the pointless sniping. Bottom line: as Kev has said, if this place doesn’t suit your needs then other fora are available. Iain
  10. That's really looking good Paolo! Iain
  11. Further progress with Fusion 360 - coming on leaps and bounds now! Bear in mind these designs are simplified - they are small in 1:32 so any smaller detail won't print well, or be seen! All now printed and painted - look really good - but haven't had a chance to photograph yet. Engine is printed as 6 separate components. And this took about 10 mins to draw up - basic, but does the job! A few more parts to draw up - but might, actually, finish this shortly! @wunwinglow - you really have created a monster... Blue skies, Iain
  12. Without the very light moderation we do here - things *would* go down hill - and potentially rapidly, as we've seen at times in the past. We're damned if we do, damned if we don't: but we have seen things get nasty before now so, sometimes a little pre-emptive action is required. Moderation is *never* an exact science - but we're all volunteers and try our best to keep things on an even and friendly keel. And we're human... It does get a little tiring having to deal with what, at times, seems like endless, and petty, sniping - some of us would rather go and build something. Iain
  13. As this was stalled and under 25% completed - and I was looking for something simple to take part in this GB - I've moved this build here. Better than starting another new project - and may be a impetus to actually finishing this one! Will try and post an update this weekend... Iain
  14. If allowed I'd like to move the Gladiator over that I started last year - less than 25% (still working on cockpit) and she'll be silver: Means I don't have to start anything new - but may be an impetus to finishing. Is everyone OK with that? Iain
  15. Today we take a look at the latest from Fantasy Printshop - in this case a set of decals for the new Spitfire Mk.Vb kits in 1:35 from Border Models. An excellent variety of markings for anyone looking to build the Spit Vb in this slowly expanding aviation scale. Blue skies, Iain
  16. Indeed - I picked the issue up when I built mine - only took a few minutes to 'fix' - but, fortunately, I caught it before the paint! Iain
  17. I'm probably in a minority of 1 - but I love their 1:32 109E kits. Yes, they take a little work, but the surface detailing is more subtle than the Dragon kits IMHO. I'd love to see them pick up the scale again. Blue skies, Iain
  18. Right... I'm going to have a *serious* think about this - as I really should start and actually finish something - and I can't miss being part of this. So, off to have a look for a relatively *simple* project (famous last words) - but I *will* be back with *something*. Iain
  19. I'm still quietly hopeful a Spey Phantom will eventually appear in injected plastic form - I think there is a market for one, and not just here in the UK! Iain
  20. Fabulous work - and on a project like this I'm surprised at the general *lack* of mistakes! Iain
  21. Lovely image of a beautiful restoration - welcome to the forums Alan! Iain
  22. Using the wings from either of the vac kits is a lot more work than correcting the kit supplied wings IMHO. I have a couple of the ID Models (Tigger) kits - somewhere... I'm so close with a solution - the really hard work is done - but it's at least a few months away I'm afraid - and I make no promises as I'll feel even more guilty if it doesn't materialise. Iain
