Did you buy up a stack of them when they were available? I’ve had my wallet emptied after buying one or two over the last few years. -
1/32 F-16 X-Tiger - Paint Mask and Decal set
Stokey Pete replied to Zola25's topic in LSP Discussion
Yes! I am all over that. looks like I’ll be building the 12th Viper for my pit. -
Seriously cool. I have the same scheme to build at some point. Seeing one finished is a big help.

1/32 BAe Harrier GR.5 ZD318 "first flight"
Stokey Pete replied to Piero's topic in Ready for Inspection
Very very nice! Great stuff Piero, as ever. Another vote for being keen to see an overview of your Harrier collection. It’s gotta be a considerable size now. -

Oh wow! I recall seeing the concept early on, and followed the build. Mega impressive project, I LOVE it! The forced perspective works brilliantly. -
Border Models Lancaster - it will be my last LSP build
Stokey Pete replied to Stokey Pete's topic in Works in Progress
Thanks Mike. I’ve just started to study the Viper in depth using DCS. Trying to tune my controls to mimic the side stick characteristics. It’s amazing how many hours can pass when one is trying to learn and master even the basics. -

I’m not much for having loads of little bits n bobs in the shelves with finished kits. It’s one more thing that my daughter, or me for that matter…..could knock off the shelf and destroy. -

Thanks, it’s good to get amongst the plastic. Thanks Niels, and for reaching out previously. It was very much appreciated at a tough moment. -
Border Models Lancaster - it will be my last LSP build
Stokey Pete replied to Stokey Pete's topic in Works in Progress
It’s been a while since I updated stuff, so thought I’d drop a quick note. It’s my intention to put this back in the bench in the next week or so. I’ve been staring at the piles of plastic on the shelves, gathering dust, and not feeling the love. Severe financial restrictions have kept me away from the modelling table. So I’ve been stuck down the rabbit hole of DCS flight simulation for a while. Things have improved enough for me to grab a few paint bottles to continue with this wonderful model. -
A Zero and Stuka - The tale of 2 kits……maybe.

After taking a fair bit of time away from the bench, I can say that this one is definitely it gonna make the deadline. Could it be moved to WIP please? -
I loved using the set I bought to paint my JASDF F-15. Easy order, speedy despatch, great price for what I received. Great quality masking film, fairly accurately cut. Minimal paint lift upon removal. My only minor gripe was with the sketchy instructions. But with a little photo research, it was overcome easily enough. The results speak for themselves. I’d have never attempted that scheme without the masks.

Are you free handing the Phantom? -
A work of art! Seriously well done to you sir. I love it!

+1 I REALLY want one. It’s such a cool looking jet. Sleek and brutal at the same time.

Border Models 1/32 Lancaster, the long build.......cockpit
Stokey Pete replied to Robthepom's topic in Works in Progress
Good to see another of these on the go Rob. As far as tips go…….dry fit as many times as your sanity will allow before you commit to cement. Definitely look at what you’d like to achieve in terms of breaking the kit down into sub-assemblies, historical accuracies with the version you choose, and markings. Ignore the instruction manuals build sequence, it doesn’t make a whole heap of sense. Overall tip…..would be to enjoy it for the marvel of a kit that it is. -

That looks pretty darned spectacular Dugy. I’m bookmarking this for when I get around to the fuselage section on my Lanc’. -

I’m in a bit of a black hole at this moment in time. Severe financial restrictions have resulted in a halt to all works currently. As amazing as my budget director is, in allowing my purchasing…….even I’ve had to acknowledge the situation and cease the purchase of everything, including the basics to keep me going. -
Wow! That is the dream setup right there. I love it!

I dunno if this makes anyone jealous, and it’ll be the closet I ever get to flying in an F-16. I set up my old gaming PC with a few extra goodies to give me as immersive an experience as my budget would allow. I fancied a bit of a break from the bench, to delve into the simulation a bit more. It’s been a minute since I last ‘flew’ these.

They’re certainly wringing every $€£ out of those moulds. Fair play to ‘em.

Dihedral looks a little off to me.

The only thing I can think of, is perhaps someone has used a Quinta cockpit set, but not used the ejection seat details. I believe they’re in that set.

A Zero and Stuka - The tale of 2 kits……maybe.
Stokey Pete replied to Stokey Pete's topic in Works in Progress
As I wait for some parts to arrive for the Stuka, I thought I’d make a start with the Zero. I’ve done some base paint work in the cockpit, the seat, and will be getting to work on the pilot later on today. First job, is putting down some Mitsubishi interior green. AK Real Colour 306. For both of these builds, I’ll be departing from my usual route of MRP paints. For a couple of reasons, finances have taken a bit of a hit recently so I’m not in a position to source a whole heap of Luftwaffe RLM’s and IJN paints. I do however, have a stack of those colours from the AK Real Colour range, so I’ll be using what I’ve got. I don’t really know how accurate these are, but they’re what I have available without buying.
