  1. Now I see why you thought my build had a tenuous link. Yours is probably a lot closer link than mine is.
  2. I have 2 kits left to build before I pack my airbrush away for good….. One of which is a Tamiya F-15C, a kit that’s over 25 years old. It will be painted in standard Mod Eagle scheme of FS 36176 & 36251. Would that be considered a tenuous enough link?
  3. Exemplary as always Chuck. Your detail finishing is awesome. Speedy recovery wishes n all that.
  4. Keep showing it off. I love the digital schemes on these Ukranian jets.
  5. Now how do I remove a dozen viper canopies, and shoehorn these dudes into my cockpits…………..
  6. Thanks for the heads up, I’ve just hit the buy button. I’ve been after one for ages.
  7. I gotta say Guy, that’s looking pretty darned good. Like you, I’ve used the 1ManArmy set, and it’s mind blowing to see how good those little tiny detail stencils are.
  8. Oh my, those look rather good. I’ll have to find me an N version to accompany the C I have on the shelves already.
  9. As far as I’m aware, I don’t believe that there’s western weapons hanging on the wings of their Flankers. I’ve seen no photos to that effect, but there may be some out there. I’ve see a few photos of Fulcrums with HARM missiles but that’s about it as far as my knowledge goes. I’ll stand to the corrected if I’m incorrect.
  10. I’ve junked a few half built/nearly built kits over the years. Done so for a variety of reasons, from exasperation at poor fit, to spilling plastic weld on the surface.
  11. Now THAT’S simpit goals right there. I don’t fly MP, I’m still getting to grips with some aspects of operating both jets. I’ve just added an extension to my stick, which means I’m relearning to fly all over again. I love the feel of it, but still getting used to the new lengths of travel that the stick has. A lot of the online (and fairly active) squadrons, tend to be U.S based. That makes timing awkward for me to participate with them here in the UK.
  12. I always wanted to go to VR, but the computing power required is beyond my allowance currently. I tried a friends Pimax Crystal on a 4090GTX gpu and it completely blew my mind. The visuals are incredible. I barley reach the recommended specs to operate it at around 35-50fps
  13. This pilot needs somewhere for the beer n crisps.
  14. I don’t know if it will induce feelings of jealousy, but it’s aviation related all the same. My recent lack of modelling has been caused by a trip into the rabbit hole that is DCS World. Specifically, Flying the Viper, and the Hornet. I decided to treat myself to a new IP setup from Winwing. Their up front control replica, and some replica DDI panels. I’ll be adding LCD screens to them in the future. I plan to swap the triple monitor setup for a widescreen curved panel too.
  15. They’re the most fun type of model to build. One to purely put hands on plastic, and forget the rest. Kids being excited about models can only be a good thing.
  16. I’ll second the opinion above. Each time I’ve built these Eagles, I’ve attached the upper wings to the upper fuselage before continuing. This shot is from a while back when I first experimented with the idea. and the 2nd attempt during a DJ conversion.
  17. Well……who’d have thought it. I’ve actually managed to put cement to plastic. I now have all 4 motors finished and all beat up to different degrees. Next up is to construct the port wing and undercarriage. It feels pretty good to have my hands on parts again, and to be getting stuff done.
  18. Hey, thank you for the kind greeting. I’ve enjoyed a very lazy day, and have just beef treated to dinner by Mrs, and Mini Stokey.
  19. $50! Wow, that’s a total steal. For our 90 minutes, I stumped up the equivalent of around $2500-$3000, and that was 25 years ago. One could probably double that today if it were still happening.
  20. Might take a while with our airbrushes, but much less guesswork as to which shade of F36375 to use. No pre or post shading either.
  21. I was fortunate enough to have flown on one with my dad for his 40th Birthday. A 90 minute, champagne fuelled, supersonic jolly boys outing. A truly spectacular experience.
  22. I’ll be picking your mind about the application of the markings in the near future. I ordered my set this week.
  23. Oh come on! That is truly special. What an absolute beauty. Kudos to DN models as well for designing the mask set.
