Welcome back Richard! You"ve done a beautiful job on the Mustang. My modelling days are over as I seemed to have P...d-off Mother Nature and now all I can do is watch the progress of others. I.ve got another of the original Airfix kits if you need.

Looks good Bill! A friend, Col. John McGreggor flew the L-9 n the CDN Army and after he retired, bought "713" and had it restored to original configuration.

Harry Hardy, the pilot of Pulverizer IV would love to see this one. A few years ago I built the 1;48 version and Harry signed the underside of the wing.

Beautiful work Brian. This is quite similar but more detailed than my AirShow Models Extra 300 and 300L ..particularly that Lycoming 540. Being a wrench twister from away back,..the tube structure and the pitch and mixture controls are really oversized...But all of it looks great!
I'm not building models any more due to loss of vision but I still enjoy trying to see work like yours.

I've been following this thread with interest. In 1979 I was privileged to be asked to test fly a totally rebuilt Gypsy Moth , Dh60M.I have photos but no way pf showing them as Photobucket is
holding them for ransom

A freat start and if allowed I would like to suggest you look at my website, www.barneysairforce.com and the construction article, "Tiger by the Tail, for the correct linkages on the throttle and trim. The photos show how straight from the old maintenance manual.

Anthony: If you are posting photos all we are seeing are ransome notes from Photobucket. I had lunch a while ago with a retired CPAir capt who hales from NZ..Dennis K. has a cousin name of Tony working on the 1:1 scale Mossie project in NZ. Any relation to you?
I've sold my 1:1 scale Grumman due to medical and will be selling the hangar today. With 65 years of flying behind me I can't c0mplain ...no one listens anyway!
Cheers

Old Dog Flying got a reaction from airscale in 1/18 Spitfire Mk. XIVe - Race #80
That colour photo is incorrect in that the aircraft has full elliptical wing tips and not the clipped tips on the real CF-GMZ /along with the high back.

http://s60.photobucket.com/user/alleycat_01/library/Fairchild%2024 . Try this link to the Fairchild 24 album and note the different shades of blue on the cowlingg and the fuselage..with the hangar doors open and closed. Same paint but different light sources and different angles

The back=plate debate reminds me of the static received oner the colout of the trim on my 1:32 scale Mustang. We had all kinds of opimions but the old pilots memory was correct..the trim was light blue, as proven a year after I finished the model..when a friend found a beautiful dolour photo of the 1:1 scale bird..
It all depends on the reflective angle on a curved surface. If PB were working I would be able to show you what I mean.
