blackbetty reacted to chuck540z3 in Tamiya F-16 Aggressor, Kicked Up a Notch, April 11/24: Lighting Details
Thanks Everyone! Much appreciated.
Thanks Peter. Here's one more pic of them to see the exhaust staining better from the rear. The staining turned out a bit better than my current exhaust, but after 3 attempts, I'm done!
Similar angle and lighting...
Cheers,
Chuck

blackbetty got a reaction from Alain Gadbois in Malvinas Dagger
i took the wings off again and constructed a crude jig to hold the wings in the right dihedral
i used superglue first and then filled the (pretty wide seam) with superthin
had to use lots of hot water to straighten the wings
i will insert strips of styrene to close the gaps on the bottom and then - you guessed it - putty/sand/putty/sand......

on a lighter note, the Aztec parts from Mexico came in: seat and expal bombs

normally i love old revell kits, but this thing is a dog. the molds are so worn out that is practically impossible to fit two parts together without modifying them.
it also has a strange kind of plastic the car primer i normally use doesnt adhere to very well, even when sanded before application

lots of scratchwork to fit the italeri canopy...

for both the front fuselage has to be widened. i am not yet sure if i will do that on the top or the bottom, i have to fit the new windscreen first
see the step here to the old revell fuselage, since the noses are designed for the italeri kit

i have a resin nose and the G-Factor gear Lothar (R.I.P. buddy) once gave me. Alain (thanx again) will send me some leftovers from an Italeri kit (tub, clearparts, etc.).
I ordered a seat and the spanish Expal bombs from Aztec models.

Well done! Note that for whatever reason I've yet to see an easy to build Mirage model!

Hi Karl. This one is indeed heavy and the lack of information complicates noticeably the situation. Alas, I never found anything related to the Argentinian birds even if I did not look specifically after that. The use of such biz jets by military forces is unfortunately very badly documented to say the least...
